  1. Trans/RDU/PTU service costs

They'll tell you to do a flush because that's plug and play for them. Very little labor. Always follow the money. $700 for the RDU/PTU for what is less than 30 minutes of labor and $60 in fluid is highway robbery.
  2. 2026 XL 2.0 w/4k tow didn't cut the mustard on my steep dirt driveway

The tires you had limited your traction significantly. Source: me, with a couple thousand miles of "off-road" use on forest roads in all kinds of conditions.
  3. Ford A Plan for all

This promo doesn't limit dealer doc fees.
  4. Article - Next gen Maverick is very important to Ford

In Ford's eyes, compact = cheap. I don't see King Ranch or Platinum making their way to something that starts at 25-26k.
  5. I bid you all Farewell

Congrats! I might be following you soon...the value of my 2022 has held up decently and the deals on the 2025 Rangers are insane.
  6. Ecoboost oil - 6 or 6.1 quatrs?

Damn, they got gold specs in there or something? 5 quarts of full synthetic from Walmart is $18.
  7. Is Maverick 200k miles reliable?

Hybrid, probably. EcoBoost, depends on how many transmissions ya wanna pay for. 😉
  8. Maverick Rear speaker questions

It doesn't rival anything high-end. It's a cheap system in a cheap truck with a sticker tossed in to make you believe you're getting something fancy.
  9. 2023 2.0 Ecoboost Transmission complete Failure at 83k miles - No Help from Ford 9k to fix

In the 2022 service manual, driving it is optional. I haven't had to drive mine that I believe has the same transmission cooler as the tow package (I have the FX4 but no tow). So yes, you are right, it could be at the wrong level if you need to drive it to hit temps.
  10. 2023 2.0 Ecoboost Transmission complete Failure at 83k miles - No Help from Ford 9k to fix

You can absolutely overfill transmissions (like my old Accord), but you can't overfill this one assuming you're following the procedure of getting the fluid temp to 185-200F and having the leveling plug open.
  11. Trans/RDU/PTU service costs

Those prices are insane. If you don't want to do it yourself or can't, find a local mechanic. There's nothing special about these parts or the fluid changes.
  12. Refilling 8f35 transmission

You don't need a pump for the transmission to get fluid in, just a funnel.
  13. 2023 2.0 Ecoboost Transmission complete Failure at 83k miles - No Help from Ford 9k to fix

I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with the GM-designed, Ford-built trash that is the 8F35 transmission. If I were you, here's what I'd do: 1. Find a local mechanic that can toss in a unit from eBay. They're going for $2000 with low mileage shipped to their garage. 2. Sell it right...
  14. 🙋‍♂️ What did you do TO / WITH your Maverick today?

Just got back from 3 nights in the national forests near Mt. Rainier.
  15. Sunroof Option

I got it mostly for the additional light. Not sure I'd pay for it again.
  16. Longest EB oil change interval

7.5k is how long I went on my last one with full synthetic. I had 18% left on my oil minder. The oil looked quite nasty, but I know that doesn't mean much these days. I'm not comfortable with 10k give my spirited mountain driving/dust/how cheap full synthetic is.
  17. OBII port unresponsive

I have this one for my Windows laptop. It's useful for when I need to use Forscan features not available on their mobile app...
  18. OBII port unresponsive

You can get something way, way cheaper. My $35 tool reads all codes I'd ever need, including the fluid temp, with Forscan.
  19. Recall-Updated Half Shafts

New reports seem to have fallen off a cliff. But interested in input from other folks as well since I think my truck is about to be on its 3rd set in ~30k miles. 😬
  20. New owner of 2025 Lariat - WA

    Nice! Hello from Redmond.
