  1. Looking for advice on a bed liner

I was going to add my $0.02 but what @notfast said earlier really sums it up well. I've pretty much have owned or have had experience w/ all of them and my choice is the spray in, by far. I've had the big name applications and currently have the Ford OEM. Ford's seems OK but I liked the...
  2. Active Military or Veterans with Mavericks

What he said, 👆 go for every state and fed benefit you have coming to you. Hopefully you have a Veteran Service Officer (or something similar) located in or near your county courthouse. That VA disability may take a bit of leg work and time to get but it's tax-free money every month.
  3. Active Military or Veterans with Mavericks

US Air Force, 1977 to 1997, twenty years flying a desk... somebody had to do it. Warmest respectful greetings back to the veterans on here regardless of your branch of service or nationality. I have repeatedly been told "thank you for your service" over the last many years and have...
  4. What’s One Interior Space in Your Maverick You Wish Was More Useful?

For me the least useful space is that silly little cubby beside the infotainment screen in the 22-24 models. I bought the Mabett Magnetic Phone Holder Cubby Insert for that spot and am very happy w/ it.
  5. Slide in Camper in my hybrid Maverick.

    Wouldn't "ribbed" be better?
  6. Slide in Camper in my hybrid Maverick.

When you peruse the RVing web groups like IRV2 and others you'll quickly come across the individuals I started thinking of as "Towing Nazis." Their usual line of comments started with how badly the troopers were going to fine you and then went into a tirade about how you must not love your...
  7. Not an engineer, but blessed with common sense

The first choice on the Mav is Tow/Haul, pretty sure the Escape doesn't have that!
  8. Not an engineer, but blessed with common sense

Yeah, me too, but it gets confusing because our Escape Hybrid only needs 2 pushes of the button to get to Eco.
  9. Rear suspension upgrades to help with leveling while towing?

For a while, after some extremely careful calculations and study I very successfully towed a smallish 5th wheel, about 9000#, behind a Tundra 2X4 that was rated as a heavy half. With the Timbrens the rig rolled along nice and level and handled great. Over the years I've seen many, many RVers...
  10. Rear suspension upgrades to help with leveling while towing?

That answers that, yup, they make 'em. I don't do much of any serious hauling nowadays, but I wouldn't be w/o them if I did; good stuff.
  11. Rear suspension upgrades to help with leveling while towing?

I used Timbrens (www.timbren.com) on my last two trucks and was very satisfied w/ how they worked to eliminate rear "squat" under load. I don't know if they make 'em for the Maverick or not.
  12. RideSolo

    Maverick Old Farts

    Yup, what he said!
  13. I don't think this will buff out :) But my wife and I are both fine

I don't know if someone else has suggested this already, haven't read every post... you might consider going to the doctor before closing everything out w/ the insurance company. Injuries sometimes take a bit to manifest themselves. Better to be sure than sorry later. I rolled a GMC Jimmy on...
  14. [Michelin Mats GIVEAWAY]: Who's got the highest mileage here? Show us your dash!

Yeah, I know this thread is about miles not mileage, but I couldn't resist. :D '24 Lariat hybrid that I got on 2 Jan '25 with 3,050 miles on the clock. I've added 11,355 or so in the nearly 20 months since then so lots of folks on here have put on many more miles than I have. The longest...
  15. What TV show got you into cars & trucks? 📺 🏁

I've always been a motorhead but what really set me up for life was seeing the Steve McQueen movie Le Mans in a theater and then a couple weeks later going to a race at Watkins Glen in New York State and seeing the exact same Porsche 917 cars that were in the movie roar by me. That event sealed...
  16. Hub Motor addition to 2wd 2023 hybrid maverick

The first thing I thought of when starting to read this thread is that, as others have mentioned, Ford made a PHEV Escape. I have no idea how many of the things they actually sold but I'd think there'd be totaled PHEV Escapes out there in salvage yards that could provide lots and lots of parts...
  17. Maverick is a cruising machine!

I hear ya! I had vein surgery in my right leg earlier this year. The surgeon was telling me that he wasn't sure if he'd be using a replacement vein harvested from my arm or if he'd use an artificial one. I told him, "I just turned 70, I don't care which you use as long as it has at least a 30...
  18. 🙋‍♂️ What did you do TO / WITH your Maverick today?

Yeah... as you SHOULD be! Last time I took the Mav to the land fill I was pulling a trailer loaded w/ the remains of an old deck. "Oh yeah, old building materials go over there." So I backed the trailer in "over there" after repeated tries... I'm used to backing a 5th wheel RV... got the...
  19. 🙋‍♂️ What did you do TO / WITH your Maverick today?

Not a real super big deal, but I soap foamed the bed getting the thing ready for a weekend trip outa town. Not the greatest pix, but foam in: Worry it around w/ a brush for a bit then rinse out: Then reload the usual junk back in: ...the usual junk AND the water bowl for the pups...
  20. Ford's CEO needs to go.

I would buy that except that when I had to purchase and have programmed a second key for my Mav when I bought it one dealership wanted over $400 and another one nearby wanted $120. AND of those two the first wanted $99 for an oil change and the other wanted $65. Both are authorized Ford...
