I like to have all the features, so no brainer for me; my ‘22 was a Lariat. I wish it had more features: memory seat, power passenger seat, rear defroster, auto dimming mirror, garage opener. I added the last two myself.
Traded for ‘25 Lariat to get the new tech. Of course, no one likes price increases, but the price is still ok when compared to other models. The only thing that gave me pause was the trade in value, but that didn’t last too long.

There's a lot of talk on here and in general, online, about how the lariat isn't "worth it" and "you're turning a 20k truck into a 50k truck" etc. But has anyone genuinely regretted getting the lariat? I'm asking for 2 reasons,

1. This is anecdotal, but I would make the decision again in a heartbeat. I love it, and i love every extra little feature it includes. I think the argument that I could get a ranger for the same price is a stupid argument because I don't need the extra capability of a ranger and I want the extra features that wouldn't come with a base model ranger. It's like asking why wouldn't someone get a mustang instead of a miata. Some people just want the miata.
2. I frequently see people spend more money modifying their trucklets to copy a Lariat than had they just gone with it in the first place. 1000$ seat covers, thousands in speaker upgrades, diy wireless charging/400w bed plug etc etc. Seems like they should have just got the lariat in the first place.
What are your guys thoughts?
Funny I own a Miata since 2008 and MUCH different from a Mustang and still in love. Ranger when I went to order my Maverick there was a beautiful black Ranger sitting beside my salesman's desk. I said it I can get into this without step rails I am buying it. I am 5' 4" so I have a Maverick. ha ha ha NO REGRETS.

It may be kind of a backward compliment, But I'm glad people buy lariats to pad out the profit margin so they can still make affordable trucks in lower trim. There's a lot of things in the luxury package I don't really care about and some I would rather not have like the power seat, But you do kind of need heated seats with a hybrid, so I paid for the rest of the stuff that I really don't want or use to come along for the ride.

[/QUOT I'm happy people buy lariats so they can pad their profit margin and I can still have an affordable truck. It's sort of a backward compliment, but If people find that gives it more value than I say go for it.

I don't begrudge anyone for any vehicle purchase. Get what you want and what you can afford. I found value in the Lariat because I do plan to keep it for a very long time. If you are constantly getting a new vehicle every two years, the Lariat probably doesn't make sense.

Don't think the trim of a vehicle belies the ability of people to afford more. My daughter's CR-V is an inheritance from my wife's grandfather who asked for the base model and "take that stupid dealer sticker off too" despite the fact he could have paid cash for any vehicle on that lot and it wouldn't have even qualified as a rounding error in his assets.

Some people just don't want all the frills and that's okay. I wanted specific frills and those came with the Lariat. I'm happy with my purchase.

I have a 2022 First Edition Lariat and thus far, its been everything I expected. Even though I paid far less than today's model, I would still buy it again regardless of cost.
Same. Ordered in June 2021, adopted her March 28th 2022. Was like waiting for a baby and I bought her with everything I could. I don't regret anything on her, although I do wish the First Edition badges were a bit flashier. Recalls are to be expected, and are handled. I get about 45 MPG in the winter and higher in the summer. I have a long commute and she is a daily driver. I just purchased an extended warranty this week as my husband is getting too old and the machines are far too complicated to work on anymore. Him and our grandson can play with his 68 cougar. But absolutely no regrets, I love her even though she is a little dirty right now.

In 22 looking to order a XL but couldn’t. Only one they had was a loaded Lariat. Everything but sunroof. Bed liner hardcover tie down system tow pack B&O sound safe list goes on for 38k but I never had the bells and whistles but loving it.

Ever met anyone who told you their $400 sunglasses weren't worth it?

How about their $600 driver?

It's a lot easier to feel good about the things you buy that maybe aren't the best value than worry about it forever. If you're a worrier you probably bought an XL.

My 23 Lariat was 35k. I then added another 5000 in upgrades. Tonneau etc I also bought the 10 year hundred thousand mile warranty and the maintenance agreement. I’m planning on keeping it for 20 years and the first 10 years. Everything is covered.

Lots of Lariat owners weighed in. I’m going to pile on too. I’m picking up my 2025 Eruption Green this afternoon (I only mention this because usually color doesn’t matter to me but this truck is beautiful). Lots of great extras, never owned a truck but when the Maverick came out with AWD Hybrid with 4K towing I began to salivate. Trading in my 5 year old Honda Accord EX Hybrid also with lots of bells and whistles. As I’m taking my test drive it felt just as luxurious as my Honda and damn, I have a bed for hauling all kinds of “stuff” and maybe I’ll be adventurous next year and buy a little trailer to tow. Guess you can tell I’m kind of excited. Thanks for letting me vent a little.

I have a '24 Lariat Ecoboost and in NO WAY regret or am disappointed in getting a Lariat over the lower models. My practice with all vehicles has been to buy the "top of the line" product especially in vehicles. I know I pay more but I also know I will get more in trade. Obviously I will not get as much in trade as I paid for the options on the Lariat but I do get great enjoyment in using and appreciating the "goodies" that come from it. You cannot put a price on that for those of us who do appreciate and enjoy the options!

I’m happy with my lariat purchase.
the price difference between an XLT with all the options I would have liked made the car only a few thousand dollars difference.

I’ve heard all the arguments of not making the mav cost more but I think those are just people who kept the price of their xl down. For me this was my first new car purchase and I was willing to spend a bit more to get something i will be happy with for a long time to come.

the activex heated seats are nice
The 360 assist is nice and helps with insurance
The quieter cabin is nice
The sound system was a huge reason for me. Gotta be able to enjoy my music that’s a non-negotiable lol.

for me the utility and gas mileage makes me more willing to invest in my comfort and satisfaction with the car. Probably a 2k difference if that by the time all features were considered. Felt like a no brainer and still does.

Wanted an XLT, Looked at all the upgrades I'd want to do, Bought a Lariat, Still spending money making it more like a 60k truck. Still don't regret it.
