Have your dealer check and replace the battery. Warranty covered! They found my original battery was holding only 42 % capacity.
As a side note I suggest any Maverick owner establish a good relationship with your Ford service department.

2024 Lariat with 2k miles. My minimum trip duration is probably 20 minutes. But I have received probably 3 or 4 sleep messages. I charged the 12v once overnight on 2amps a couple weeks ago to top it off but today the truck was dead after work. I tried a jump pack on it but couldnt get it to start. Jumper cables and a coworker got me going but its worrysome for sure on a new truck. What should I expect the dealer to do when I relate this issue? A new batt - if its charging this poorly consistently I'm doubtful that will solve things.
He will tell you to drive longer distances(mine did)! I put a battery maintainer on it and a wireless battery monitor. I was also told that the "L" mode on the transmission engages the electric charger to a higher degree but to me it seems in that mode you almost don't need brakes and you sure can't coast!

Good luck finding a replacement battery, there was a nationwide backorder until recently. They are becoming available but remain scarce, at least in Ohio. I called my dealer today just to check and they have ONE in stock.

The Ford Motorcraft batteries had a large number of defective ones since 2022. If they keep putting those in you will be dead again in the not too distant future. After the local dealer put in three different Motorcraft batteries that were s--t, I gave up and bought my own non-Ford battery. Knock on wood it has been working well for months now.

One other thing that might help - turn off all those Ford apps that are doing nothing for you, and just letting Ford track you for their own purposes. I don't care about their automatic downloads; when a new update comes out I'll turn that app back on, download it, turn it back off. Those apps are draining batteries in many vehicles, not just Ford and not just hybrids. There are complaints everywhere about them.

I charged the batt overnight, drove it to work ok this morning. Was stranded at work. Jumping the truck did not work today. Got a ride home from a coworker. Truck stuck at work now.

I called the dealer I bought it from they indicated no roadside assistance on new truck and recommended a third party towing company.

What I dont understand is why hooking up jumper cables to a running vehicles battery failed to start the maverick - this provided way more power than even a new 12v battery would have. The car blinked every warning message it could , and it seemed like it started briefly but it turned off and gave me trip summary details instead of staying on. I even tried jumping it to the battery under the seat without success. If I borrow a new battery and swap it in I dont see how that would possibly work since jumping didnt.

Is there some fuse to pull to reset the damn thing so a new battery might work?

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.
Thanks Ford for reaching out. Private message sent with requested info.

Head to the auto parts store. Buy replacement 12v battery. Swap out. Enjoy problem free driving.

My understanding is that the Ford factory battery is weak. And the dealer will replace it with another weak battery. I did not get an AGM, but some people have went that route.

I swapped mine about 10 months ago. No problems since.

Sad to read this with a 24! My 24 xlt hybrid has been flawless the past week sitting outside in brutal MN temps... I remote start it every am for 5min or so then slowly drive out of neighborhood. But now I'm knocking on wood...sad to have to worry about with a brand new truck with 1k miles

Even with a new battery, limiting the battery to 80% charge level hurts those of us in the north. Tonight our forecast low is -24 F! The cold diminishes the capacity a lot and starting at only 80% makes it impossible to without a heater or battery tender. I wish that I could change the charging level to 100%!

Update:
After truck wouldn't jump on 1/19 I left it at work and went back at midnight with a few tools. Disconnected the stock batt, and plugged it into a 12v power wheels battery and the truck started and drove home ok.

Truck has been at the dealership since 1/23/2024. Dealer indicated bad battery is the sole issue and is unable to find a replacement due to worldwide shortage of this battery. No loaners available but I did reluctantly manage to get a rental which is apparently costing Ford $40 a day. Some of the local auto parts stores have a battery in stock for ~$220 but Ford wont authorize that.

Wait. What? My understanding is Ford provides FREE Roadside Assistance on all new vehicles for 5 years/60 thousand miles. That sounds like pure BS from your dealer

Why no roadside assistance? Did the dealer have an answer for that?
