Dead Hybrid XLT after 7000mi

Definitely didn't place my post as a complainer. Just trying to get some advice. Ford doesn't have any on their FAQ yet and the generic owner's manual isn't helping. I love my Maverick. Best vehicle I ever owned. It's a first-year vehicle. There are bound to be problems. Just hope Ford learns from it and makes it better in the coming years.

Your question is why we even have forums like this......to learn. I am only two weeks into ownership but I did go ahead and purchase a 12v jump box from Harbor Freight for $59. It fits nicely under the rear seat with a little padding. I hope I never need it but I am prepared. I do not live near a city where I can call for help so I have learned to prepare for issues in advance.

Thankfully, mine jump started quite easily, but that is the only way it would start. I got it to the dealer Friday and am waiting for them to get a chance to look at it.

If they haven't heard of this issue before, tell your dealer to check the Tech Hotline /Global Technical Assistance Center. There is info about the most likely cause (battery cable w/bad solder).

Not necessarily. You’re speculating that they will all fail. It could have been the result of one person at the plant not paying attention when he was crimping the cables. Could have been a machine malfunction. Could have been a bad batch of cables. Could have been many things. You don’t know, and neither do I.

I bought one on Amazon and it says it stays charged up to 18 months. I’ve had it for over 2 months. Decided to check it this weekend and it was still 100%

Its not the first(he was kidding), its not the thrid, i believe we are over 20 now, every time i read here, i read of 1 or 2 more.

The harnesses are sourced out, the vendor didnt have good QC practices, the process went out to lunch, dont know when or how many. There QC could have catch with a simple pull test. Heck could have QC every harness in about 10-15seconds.

They should have know it was a critical process and kept a better eye on it. Some one is going to eat crow over it..

Even better, every harness that gets replaced is one less Mav to be produced. And they are very behind the times already..
