Called my dealer they said not to worry it’s all been done on their end. Flustered that the ford 800 customer service number couldn’t provide covp verification ? That would be too easy…. Good luck to all.

Makes me wonder the percentage of people still waiting that are not and never were COVP approved

Props to everyone who contributes valuable information like this to the site. I think I have my mav by now because of adding sibl and cargo in dec. as advised by this site. I got a date 2 weeks later.

I would suspect this is the easiest way to reduce the number of unscheduled orders by a large margin. And it is a way for Ford Corporate to toss their hands up and say "We didn't really do this to your customers, YOU did. Why did you not COVP them in September?"
LM did on ALL of their orders, even though FORD told them way back then it was NOT necessary. FORD does not know which end is up right now. Or just maybe they are getting ready to make sure if you are not selected for the 23 MAVERICK, they will carry over your 23 cost for the 24's?

Yep. And I am glad I went with them. They are a quality and ethical dealership.

Clarification please. If I received the "order received" email from Ford the day after my order was placed does this mean there may NOT have been a COVP submitted?
Yes

I was just sent this from a dealer I have an order with that required a 100$ deposit….

pretty sure that’s not what I asked for.
I don’t work for Ford, or a Ford dealer. But that looks like a COVP approval to me. Note the “USA Retail COVP” at the top. Further down, “Program” column and “Retail” entry. “Status of Claim” column “Approved”. Plus you have a tracking number. It looks like a COVP approval to me.

oh well… I got my deposit back. I asked for a copy of it, not an screenshot, and I didn’t see an authorization number.

I want a cheap truck I don’t need one. It’s a good spot to be in

Yes so are we good
Don't ASSUME. Your dealer should have received a verification like this. Way back in 11/21, there were many stories of dealers who did not submit the COVP before the 11/15/21 cutoff.

Tell them you want to see it. The salesman sent me this way back when I first ordered. It took Ford several days to send it, as I ordered it 5 days before. Don't let them blow you off. It isn't that hard to take a screenshot and send it to you.

AKA...some of you are about to lose your orders. I speak from experience. Ford can't get out of their own way.

Ford Video Guy just said on his livestream that there is an even deeper wrinkle to this........even if you DID have COVP done back in September, if you changed your trim level or went from FWD to AWD (or hybrid to EcoBoost or EcoBoost to Hybrid) since then, YOU NEED TO COVP AGAIN. He said he had done COVP for all of his (back in September), yet saw some on a list today that were not COVP'd. The reason being the customer changed their order. They had been correctly COVP'd back in September, but were now showing as not being COVP'd.

Yikes......

Any of you out there who made changes to your order after it was initially submitted, CHECK WITH YOUR DEALER. Don't let them just claim they did it correctly back in September. They very well might have done it back in September. Make them produce proof as of today! If Ford Video Guy can be caught off guard by an order change needing to be re-COVP'd, then I can assure you MANY dealers out there are also going to not know about that wrinkle.

Edit: He just said "motor" doesn't matter. So just changes to trim (XL, XLT, Lariat), or change between FWD and AWD.

Nevermind folks! He clarified on Friday that he was mistaken due to looking at a spreadsheet on his phone. Ford was showing the info in a weird format where they had multiple orders on the same spreadsheet row (instead of just one order per row). So it appeared that changing trim meant a new COVP. But when he was able to look at it on a real computer it became clear that this should not have required a new COVP.

Still......verify your COVP status with your dealership.

If the dealer took my drivers license info back in September and I've been getting the 45 day emails can i assume that I am COVP?
Good question. At what stage can we be assured we have a valid order?
How many hoops do we have to jump thru?
