- Ford simply changed one word. "Retail" was changed to "Customer". The process is the same.

- During the ordering blitz a couple of weeks ago there was a memo from Ford (posted on this forum) clearly
stating that COVP was no longer required but was encouraged.

Background:

In 2019 Ford introduced a new program called the Retail (In 2021 Ford changed "Retail" to "Customer") Order Verification Program that allows customers to preorder a vehicle. The ROVP allows customers to receive their vehicles as soon as possible, since all approved orders will get priority above dealer allocated orders.

ROVP Requirements:
  • Valid State Driver's License
  • Signature for the order
  • Cash/Credit Deposit
ROVP Steps:
  1. Customer goes to the dealership and places an order for a vehicle.
  2. Dealer has to upload photocopied Driver's License and signed purchase order to the ROVP website.
  3. ROVP order goes through verification process where it is screened to see if the requirements are met.
  4. ROVP order is either approved or denied.
Why was my ROVP order denied?

Your ROVP order was most likely denied because the dealer did not submit the required documents. Another reason is that your dealer tried to order a combination of options that aren't being built right now.

We have purchased multiple vehicles where COVP was used and deposit was never a requirement for COVP approval.

Yep. "Cash/Credit Deposit" is not a component of ROVP/COVP. Any deposit is 100% at the discretion of the dealership and Ford Corporate would not even know if a deposit was present or not. At least for Maverick. I don't want to make a blanket statement about other models.
