I wonder how many more would have bought a Maverick if Ford had actually built the one they ordered or if they hadn't dropped the ball when it came time to replace the 2022 order with a 2023 order.
Considering I made my comment at 2:35 PM Eastern, and you made yours around 10:45 PM Eastern, my answer is "No."
But I do wish I had the ability to travel through time.
Will everyone who actually paid $22,595 for a brand-new base 2023 Maverick off the lot raise their hand?
It ranks so high because of the perceived bang for the buck reflected in the MSRP vs. other trucks...but people are routinely paying more than MSRP for this truck, making the ranking...
If your dealer told you your order is scheduled, call Ford corporate and verify that it's true. Be sure to do it before the order banks close.
Been there, done that last year. They canceled my order after the dealer lied to me about about it being scheduled.
Last year...my dealer told me the same thing...that my 2022 was scheduled, and there was no need to roll it over to a 2023 order. They even gave me a date.
It was a LIE! By the time I realized something was wrong and started contacting Ford corporate's customer service department, the order...
Well, I suppose you could say my expectations that there might be a few minor hiccups in the ordering/build process were exceeded by a considerable margin of incompetence I didn't imagine possible on the part of Ford corporate and Stott Ford in Tryon, North Carolina.
A 2024 hybrid is now $7000 more than a 2022. Prices for 2022 were based on conditions in 2021 when annual inflation was 7%, and prices for 2023 were based on conditions in 2022 when inflation was 6.5%.
In other words, a reasonable rate would have been 12 to 15% over two years...maybe 20-25%...
I know the feeling; when you combine the utter incompetence of Ford corporate with a dealer who lied for absolutely no reason other than being too lazy to place a 2023 order to replace my 2022 order, the result is just lingering bad will. I'm driving a Colorado now that's bigger than what I...
I like the white paint, but I'm not crazy about the bronze wheels.
To me, it's a clash to have bronze and chrome on the same vehicle. If you were to bronze the other chrome parts, the wheels would look right then.
Correct, but there's a scale.
At the top of the scale, there are real trucks like the F150.
A notch lower, there are smaller trucks like the Colorado and Ranger.
A notch lower, there are SUVs with a bed on the back like the Maverick and possibly the upcoming Rampage.
And then, WAY down...
Ah... here we go. That's more like it.

I'm not crazy about the looks of the Fiat Toro. I wish the nose was more square and less SUV-like. And behind the back glass, I'd like to see them lose whatever you call those wings that sweep back, because those block access to the front of the bed if you're wanting to load something in from...
Thanks for the details. Yeah, I'm not familiar with the Fiat stuff enough to know the difference, but they look pretty much alike.
Sounds like the Strada/700 is closer in size to the last Subaru Brats that were built.
I'd like something a little smaller than the Chevy Colorado I ended up...
Well, the Toro looks just like the Ram 700 already sold in Mexico.

If they'll actually build one when I order it rather than lying to me like Ford did...or maybe, oh I don't know, make enough to actually have stock on their lots I can look at before buying, then...
I'd love to get in a room with whoever at Ford is in charge of orders.
I'd like to express in clear terms how wrong it is for them to accept an order in January, but to then cancel it 10 months later without ever asking the would-be customer what they actually want; how when that customer's...
