You will know you have a valid order when you drive a Maverick off the lot.Good question. At what stage can we be assured we have a valid order?
How many hoops do we have to jump thru?

Re COVP, how do you know you are good to go? How do you know this? Do you work for Ford or a dealer? No, if you are already scheduled you are good to go. This is for those of us still hoping to get scheduled before the end of the model year.
This is two separate things. Like they said earlier, the dealer would know this, so they need to confirm the COVP.Clarification please. If I received the "order received" email from Ford the day after my order was placed does this mean there may NOT have been a COVP submitted?
COVP is Ford's system for confirming that this is a legitimate order in order to schedule it. If your order is built it was already scheduled. Hence you are good to go. Watch Tim Bartz video from last night where he confirmed this also.Re COVP, how do you know you are good to go? How do you know this? Do you work for Ford or a dealer?
I have a built order to be delivered between 6/2 and 6/8. I think I will call dealer just to be on the safe side.
Yes, the order has your name attached to it so COVP has been submitted.
So this is actually some pretty big news. I just emailed my dealer as we have a Lariat hybrid on order that was initially ordered as a XLT hybrid (thus a trim change). So per Tim this order would need to be COVP'D again. I spelled as this out to my salesperson but I'm not confident that they'll look into this and make sure it's right.Ford Video Guy just said on his livestream that there is an even deeper wrinkle to this........even if you DID have COVP done back in September, if you changed your trim level or went from FWD to AWD (or hybrid to EcoBoost or EcoBoost to Hybrid) since then, YOU NEED TO COVP AGAIN. He said he had done COVP for all of his (back in September), yet saw some on a list today that were not COVP'd. The reason being the customer changed their order. They had been correctly COVP'd back in September, but were now showing as not being COVP'd.
Yikes......
Any of you out there who made changes to your order after it was initially submitted, CHECK WITH YOUR DEALER. Don't let them just claim they did it correctly back in September. They very well might have done it back in September. Make them produce proof as of today! If Ford Video Guy can be caught off guard by an order change needing to be re-COVP'd, then I can assure you MANY dealers out there are also going to not know about that wrinkle.
Edit: He just said "motor" doesn't matter. So just changes to trim (XL, XLT, Lariat), or change between FWD and AWD.
When I changed our order we had to sign and submit info all over again. So this is actually some pretty big news. Is this "Fordese" for trying to make sure that orderer matches buyer??? Whatever, make sure your order has been entered and approved in the COVP system! Yes, the dealer can show you this!!!
