It looks to me that they are trying to mitigate the goat-rope that happened last year with VINs being issued then cancelled. If they can clean up the order banks, they may be able to build what is needed, or very close to it to cut down on private offers and other incentives. To me this sounds like Ford is learning.

I’m enjoying reading this thread! How many Maverick customers don’t even go to this site? Now dealers are scrambling to assign names to orders, and they must be legit! Driver’s license match! How many are too lazy to complete the paperwork? How many dealers know they don’t have the allocations, and won’t do anything? Can’t wait to see the posts come second week in June.

I have my COVP Tracking number, but still need it to be scheduled.

Yep, and the "good" dealers said from day 1 that they would COVP 100% of their orders to avoid this type of fiasco.
This right here is why those who got screwed should publically shame those dealers who failed to follow simple directions, and those dealers who followed the simple directions should be publically praised!

I asked my salesperson for two things.
1) Would he confirm that the COVP was actually entered on my order
2) Can he give me my current priority code?

Below is his emailed answer. Does this make any sense?

""I ordered 4 mavericks the same day i ordered yours 3 of the 4 orders got picked up yours was one of the 3 the # your seeking is T001 They started building T002 today so it shouldnt be much longer on yours hope this help"" (unedited)
One of my greatest pet peeves is when you ask someone two questions via email and they only answer the first one. What's even more infuriating about this response is that they didn't answer either question.

unfortunately for some... this COVP issue may only deal with 1 or 2 orders at their dealership, while they may still have the unfortunate issue of dealership allocations holding them back. Even if my dealership had 1 or 2 orders that get cancelled there are still just too many vehicles left due to their low allocation numbers that they have been getting lately. Most months were averaging around 5, but a few months they got like 2. So unless Ford also adjusts the allocations due to the 3rd shift, I still most likely wont get mine built this year. Also, thats if my dealership didnt COVP all orders...if they did, I am even more out of luck.

This is very interesting.

22 trucks and 16 hybrids. That's a 72% rate compared to Ford's now improved 50%.
36% are XL compared to Ford's planned 15%.

But good on this dealership for having everything squared away.

If the dealer took my drivers license info back in September and I've been getting the 45 day emails can i assume that I am COVP?

Galaxy Ford Smithville TN won't return my emails asking this question.
Why should they?
They are busy selling overpriced F150s and Rangers for a profit. This is what happened when someone finally offered an afforadable vehicle that people want.
They don't really exist and the dealers don't really care.
Walk into a Ford dealer and watch the eager excited expression on the salesperson's face seeing you there change when you start talking about a Maverick.
