Third time my truck has come off the track going thru the car wash.
Trying to figure why.
2025 XLT AWD hybrid.
Truck in neutral, , about half way thru back wheel off roller.
They stop the car was, I need to put truck in drive then bump back onto roller.
Could it be caused by the brake issue that the recall is about?
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
It's either Auto hold or Start/Stop is on.

Went through the car wash today. I know I have said I HATE them but salt needed washed off and the spigots are winterized right now. NEVER had a problem. Engine ON, transmission in neutral, foot NOWHERE near the brake, auto hold off. Works like a charm.

I use a valet wash, and you are not in the vehicle as it goes down the line. You cannot put it in temporary neutraL mode since that is canceled as you open the door. The only ways to go through the wash are to put it in neutral tow mode or to lock the seat belt to fool it into thinking that a human is driving.

If you are using a generic wash then you're inside the vehicle and only need to put it in neutral.

The truck is doing what its supposed to do, preventing it from running away down a hill for example. You are not putting the truck into neutral-tow mode to allow it to be dragged along the track without putting the brakes on. Alternatively you could latch the driver seatbelt and put it in neutral, and that would allow it to make it through an automated carwash without you being in control.
You don’t need to put in neutral tow mode, remember the Ecoboost version does even have neutral tow mode. Place it in neutral and make sure the auto brake is not activated.

You don’t need to fasten the seatbelt. When I flat tow my Maverick I place it in neutral tow mode and exit the vehicle to drive my motorhome.

When in neutral, for car wash you have to push the "L" button (there should be a pop up on dash = "To stay in neutral push L button"). I would stay in drivers seat with truck ready to start ice if necessary.
ETA:to put truck in TEMPORARY NEUTRAL step on brake, turn diaL to N, push L button, take foot off brake, turn truck off. Get out. Truck will stay in neutral for 30 minutes OR UNTIL BATTERY GETS LOW (Maybe leave truck in ready state?). Note: if you step on brake after pushing L button that will turn temporary neutral off and parking brake will engage or truck switches to park.

The pop up says,
To stay in Neutral WHEN EXITING VEHICLE select L Button

This is what the manual has to say on the subject.

So a low battery could be a culprit too.

But that would mean a hybrid could have a problem with a low 12V battery...
Tell me it ain't so!

I haven’t used a track or conveyor belt carwash with my Maverick but my 2025 Subaru Forrester recommends turning off the ACC prior to entering one of these carwashes because it will activate the brakes and the vehicle could jump the track or break the chain or conveyor belt inside the carwash
“ the vehicle could jump the track or break the chain or conveyor belt inside the carwash”

I doubt that. Sensors stop the system before the equipment is in any danger of breaking.

I wonder how quiet this Forum would become if everyone read the owners manual ?
