That's not true. Neutral is all you need. Who gets out of vehicles at car washes these days?

I only use Tunnel Car Washes and I've never had it happen. I put the truck in neutral never touched the Low button. Roller or conveyor style, it pulls through the tunnel just fine.
I leave mine running.

Okay I googled 2022 hybrid maverick instructions how to take thru car wash. It does say put truck in neutral and in Low.
So sounds like putting in low is not needed now
Never was needed, because you're not getting out of the vehicle. Some car washes require you getting out, so just neutral would still work.

I agree that just N is the correct answer. It also disables the auto brake. Also, occasionally you see this...

Same here, leave mine running, put it in neutral.
I don't plan on exiting my truck anytime during the car wash therefore. There is No need for me to press the L button.
My opinion is.
Some folks are skimming the pop up message and totally skipping the middle line.

I have a 2025 XLT AWD hybrid. Twice now going thru the car wash truck has come off the rollers.

My past 2022 xlt hybrid never had this happen.

Like with my 2022 I put the truck in neutral and low.

Im wondering if putting the 2025 in low is the issue.

Any others having this happen?
always low. Otherwise you are in gear.

I frequently use a tunnel wash in my first gen Maverick and only use Neutral without pressing L. As point out, that is only needed if you need to exit the car as well.

Only issue I have ever had was because I was using the provided rag to wipe down my console and accidentally bumped the rotary gear selector and shifted the car into reverse which resulted in several seconds of panic. New Rule now is to never touch the console while in the tunnel. 😂

Due to very unfortunate incidents of people getting crushed by vehicles, they're trying to dummy-proof cars rolling when the driver is not driving.

Don't forget the Maverick doesn't have the traditional neutral like any manual or automatic transmission- the gears are always connected. If something is turning (wheels, ICE, and/or electric motor(s) something else has to move too!

Should just be in neutral not low.

I use neutral in my 2025 Hybrid. I did have one occasion where it hit the brakes for a collision alert while in the carwash. It cleared, so all was good.

Putting it in Low is your problem. Neutral only

There are differences between HYBRID and EcoBoost,

OP is in a HYBRID

Low is not going to do anything IF you stay in the car.

As others said, just opening the driver's door without the seatbelt buckled will move the truck to park standing still or rolling less than 6 MPH. Yes, it will slam! Into park while rolling at low speed.

I have a STRONG HUNCH and it's probably right: auto-hold was accidentally on.

Auto hold works in Neutral.
I hit that button without knowing it one time at a car wash. I was for sure in N and I stayed in the truck.

With all the flashing lights, colored foam, and loud noises I did not notice I hit the button.

My truck stayed still. The rollers lifted and went under my truck twice before I noticed.
