No personal experience just what the Subaru Saleman told us so of course I took it with a grain of salt and a shot of tequila lol“ the vehicle could jump the track or break the chain or conveyor belt inside the carwash”
I doubt that. Sensors stop the system before the equipment is in any danger of breaking.
I take it to mean that while in temporary neutral something (solenoid or ?) needs close to 12v to keep truck from dropping into park. Like going into battery save mode? When using temp neutral I leave my truck running!!!So a low battery could be a culprit too.
But that would mean a hybrid could have a problem with a low 12V battery...
Tell me it ain't so!
I just looked up my car wash account.and my 2024 has been through the car wash 68 times in 2 years. I have never had any issues with or without the seatbelt on. I just place on neutral and release the brake pedalThird time my truck has come off the track going thru the car wash.
Trying to figure why.
2025 XLT AWD hybrid.
Truck in neutral, , about half way thru back wheel off roller.
They stop the car was, I need to put truck in drive then bump back onto roller.
Could it be caused by the brake issue that the recall is about?
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
Probably very quiet -- reading 550+ pages of micro-print would take us a long time, and trying to differentiate what applies to our specific Maverick would take some effort as well.I wonder how quiet this Forum would become if everyone read the owners manual ?
:’P
Excellent points well statedAre you in it at the time or is the truck "unmanned"?
It matters.
Shifting to neutral gear allows the drivetrain to freewheel.I had this issue in my 2024, I had my truck in Eco mode, (90% in town truck) the regenerative braking was not letting the truck roll smoothly through the wash. I put it in normal mode and haven't had a problem since. The car wash attendant was very patient with me, and said they have problems with a lot of hybrid and EVs not liking the track system they use.
I don't use automatic car wash, due to the vent shades and hood deflector (in the literature, said not to run vehicle through car wash). I wash mine by hand. So, I do not encounter this problem.Third time my truck has come off the track going thru the car wash.

You stay in truck and don't have to rely on valet at car wash to put truck into temporary neutral pushing the L button. If he steps on brake the truck will cancel temp neutral.I've been through the Drive Thru car wash probably close to 20 times with it in Neutral and foot off the brake and no problems!!
