Same here, leave mine running, put it in neutral.
I don't plan on exiting my truck anytime during the car wash therefore. There is No need for me to press the L button.
My opinion is.
Some folks are skimming the pop up message and totally skipping the middle line.

X3 Neutral and leave it running and listen to FM Radio since Sirius won't work inside a building!! :)

I have a 2025 XLT AWD hybrid. Twice now going thru the car wash truck has come off the rollers.

My past 2022 xlt hybrid never had this happen.

Like with my 2022 I put the truck in neutral and low.

Im wondering if putting the 2025 in low is the issue.

Any others having this happen?
I only have a 2025. But I have worked at a car wash with rollers. I would not engage L or any gears when going through a roller style car wash. Just put it in neutral, and leave it in neutral, DO NOT TOUCH BRAKES.

If the wheels dont freely spin for any reason, youll get knocked off the rollers. Rollers spinning, tire not, roller gets pulled harder underneath the non moving wheel and jumps/lifts the tire over the rail.

My best guess is that you are either engaging the low gear, or mistakenly have applied the brake, when the roller was at your tire, and the wheels are/were not spinning freely.

Try just leaving in neutral, and make sure you are not touching your brakes. You should be fine then.

👍 100% ☝☝
I really don't think putting it in low would have any impact in a tunnel car wash.
Touching the brake pedal as you posted or accidentally spun the gear selector into reverse or park.
I'm leaning toward accidentally touching the brake pedal, as the most likely cause.

Well, there's the problem, and it's right in the owner's manual posted above.

"Auto Return to Park"

When you put it in neutral but get out of the vehicle, the vehicle automatically returns to park, all by itself, even if you put the selector in Neutral.

This issue has killed many people, including the guy from the newer Star Trek movies when his Jeep rolled into him.

"L" doesn't put it in gear when the selector is in Neutral, it instead acts as a defeat switch of the "Auto Return to Park" feature.

It should still stay in Neutral when you push "L" whether you're in the vehicle or not. Interesting.

I don't use Auto hold. I did not realize that it stayed activated when the truck was put into neutral.
Good to know.
