Hello. I know I'm a bit late to this 'party', but just to clarify . . . does replacing with an AGM battery necessitate a Forscan modification?

I'm in an echo chamber. LOL, but it's not a bad thing to remind folks of how to do something. As you reminded us, one doesn't need forscan as the truck will recognize the AGM battery after resetting the BMS.

Tabs are easily removed with a cut off wheel to make room for a OPTIMA YELLOW TOP. Did this last summer and no more sleep issues

How do you remove the plastic tray since for the life of me I can't get it out?

Do you have to and remove the old H4 first, and if so will the tray snap back in after the H5 is installed?

I did pull the old battery first, used an angle grinder to cut the ears off, you could prob use a hammer and bend them over as they are sheet metal. It made it so much easier to work with the tray out , just pulled real hard and it came loose

Then were you able to pop the tray back on top of the new H5 battery?

Yep, this is the same one I bought from FoMoCo to replace that pos flooded one that came in my late 2024 hybrid.
Kissed the low voltage messages and no interior lights issues goodbye!

Installed MotorCraft AGM November 30, 2024.
No issues since.
Pisses me off that I needed to spend $229 to fix a new vehicle with less than 1k miles on it!
First Ford I’ve owned in over 50 years-makes me think maybe this Maverick of mine may wear out before I get it paid off.

Any issues in 3 months would just be a bad quality battery, so good this Motorcraft isn't like the others.

As to issues with it working better - gotta have patience and time to declare no issues yet.
Any new battery would have stopped the battery saver and deep sleep mode effects - for awhile.

I also installed a permanent voltage gauge with switch. The pos flooded acid battery that came with the truck would drop to 11.6 volts.
The new replacement AGM stays around 12.6 volts after sitting for about 3-4 days.
Go figure?

I started getting a low battery even after I just drove the truck. I noticed because the dome light didn't come on.
I got an AGM Delco battery off of Amazon at a very good price. So far so good.

My 2024 Lariat Hybrid would get random Deep Sleep and Remote Functions Disabled during the first 5 months of ownership. Starting at about 6 months, the messages were a regular occurrence, 2-3 times a week, even right after driving.

I replaced the battery with a Walmart EverStart AGM H5 battery ($180, bent tabs to fit) at the beginning of October 2024. Going on 6 months now and not one Deep Sleep or Remote Functions Disabled. The truck went thru a full Wisconsin winter, cold January and February. Below zero nights, single digit high temps. Sorry, but since installing the AGM, I stopped monitoring voltage.
