It was July 21, I was on my way with my pop up camper to the camping site to meet my brother and some friends for a whole week of holiday in great company. Unfortunately I never made it. About Half way there when the traffic slow down because of roadwork, the car behind me never brake, hit me in the trailer and push me in the minivan in front of me, then hit me a second time. Results: camper is totalled, maverick have at least 21 000$ in damage (in Canadian money) and my holiday are ruined.

With these damage and all the thread about rear ended mavericks being totalled, I was sure mine will be also and I started to tell to myself it was the best time to order a 2025. Until my insurance said nope, we are fixing it. All that I learned is that they asked the body shop to check some precise parts and they were undamaged so they will fit it.

am I the only one to think that repair of that value will cause a big value loss? I am now waiting for soon 2 months, they told me 1 part ordered is still back order

Wow, hate to see all that. The good thing is everyone is OK, thats the most important!
That hitch receiver sure seems out of wack. Make sure they check the crumple zones underneath the bed for damage.

This happens so often where I live in MT. There is constantly road work, sometimes every 1/3rd of a trip from one town to the next. The most I've seen is 4 different stops and escorts for a 120 mile trip. And people HAUL ASS! For no reason. Then you see them 3 or 4 cars ahead at the next stop. It's effing dangerous especially on rural highways and they pass 4 or 5 vehicles at once most times in the worst spots.

So yea, I get it OP. I'm sorry this happened to you. People need to chill TF out, slow down and pay attention.

Not sure if this is a "thing" in Canada or not , but might be worth checking into ,, Collision Safety Consultants provides post-repair inspections and automotive consulting for diminished value claims and consumer safety.

Just spent a few days in Charlotte NC this past week (got home to AZ in the he last hour). So many unthoughtful, selfish, aggressive, speeding drivers. Just hated it. Driving ruined the whole place for me. Y'all from Charlotte are in need of an intervention.

It's everywhere now days. I'd hate to be back in congested cities with as many a-holes as I encounter on rural roads. Hell, I encounter them on the forums and you just know that's how they drive - the same way they conduct themselves here.

Everyone is so secluded in their own social media anger and work sucks, pay sucks, just wanna get home etc etc... but it's no excuse and like you, I get tired of seeing it too. Sympathy only goes so far for the "I'm just having a bad day" crowd when it's really an everyday thing.

And man, the last time I took a cross country trip, my experience in Texas was the same as yours. Totally ruined my trip. Someone backed into my truck in the hotel, refused to cooperate etc etc had to call the police due to their instability and anger over the issue of me wanting it taken care of through insurance and now as a result, I never drive or park without a dash cam and battery packs to support parking mode and I always carry. Always. I'm never in public "naked".

Hopefully OP's experience wasn't totally that bad and just someone not paying attention, but jeez...

$21k CAD in damage??? My previous vehicle was hit from behind too, with $12k USD of damage, and the body shop wouldn’t even do a job that big. Since it was only worth about $12,000 anyway, it was totaled, but I guess at least now you know your truck is worth significantly more than $21k+. Really hope you are getting a rental/loaner.

By the way, why is YOUR insurance involved? If the other party is at fault, normally (at least in the US) the other party’s insurance should handle everything.

Sorry about all of it. Good luck with whatever debacles come next.

I don't know if you have it in Canada, but here in the States we do depending on the state it's called diminished value.

Since it was the other party's fault, I'd be going after their insurance for the diminished value on your truck, which should be substantial.

That really sucks. That's a shitty way to ruin a good weekend. Sadly no matter where you go nowadays everybody drives like shit and doesn't look out for one another, it's every man for himself. They're in such a big hurry to get to the next the light or intersection.

quebec province in Canada is a « no fault state » and insurance are mandatory. So your insurance pay for your damages and then sue the Insurance of the responsible for that amount.

NC drivers are mostly clueless, checked out, and not aggressive. Charlotte included.

sorry you had trouble navigating our beloved state.

Multi car pileups sucks. Lot of damage to several vehicles and many times damage to loved ones and even death. Getting rear-ended is notorious for causing whiplash and spinal injuries. I hope everyone is okay, vehicles can be fixed or replaced. Sorry to hear of anyone dealing with a collision especially in a new or newer vehicle.

You know after it gets fixed you might want to see what it worth? The 25 still might be an option, just a little more work obtaining it. Best of luck with dealing with the body shop. Hope it comes out to your satisfaction.

My accident was at low speed, on the 3 car involved, none got the airbag deployed. No ambulance needed or anything, witch is a good thing.

The worst part was to deal with my Insurance company. The woman in charge didn’t even know how to deal with any trailer involved, I had to explain her the rules for insurance. The body shop (of course choose by the insurance company) gave me a really good impression with clear answer to my question. And yes they gave me a rental car for the whole time my maverick in in the shop. I got a 2 year old rav4, could have been a lot whorst

Glad to hear nobody was hurt. I can only think the driver behind you was distracted or on there cell phone. Still a shame no matter what the reason.
