Curious, has the hybrid experienced similar axle issues with its current 2k tow rating? I’m wondering if the lower horsepower and torque rating [than the Ecoboost] of the ‘25 4k hybrid will help it to avoid these axle issues. Thanks in advance.

I have a AWD hybrid with 4k tow on order specifically to tow a 3000lb travel trailer....
Should be fine if you take it easy on hills, keep it under 65 mph, and know you are the runt of the litter.

Take a look through these threads.
Sometimes you'll have to read a couple posts into a thread before you get to the axle part of the thread.
They may shed light on some problems with the hybrid axles.

The peak torque in the Hybrid is almost the same as the EcoBoost.

Just the peak torque of 267 lb-ft in the hybrid can only last a short time. But it's there to get a trailer moving on an upslope.

Careful... someone will call the warranty police. 😆
My warranty went away about 20 min after buying it when I tuned it. This truck I got for fun and work.
It does both well.

Can't wait for the typical YouTube reviewers to get one and test it.

You sure they fit? Heck are you sure they're actually different?
I posted pics in one of the other 15 or so axle threads , and there is no difference in trans outputs .
I have a extra set in stock in my garage and invited anyone in san diego to purchase off me and we would swap them in , but no takers yet.
Its obvious in my measurement pics they are 1/8” thicker on shaft and joint , and the joint is not a 3 ball slider like the hybrid or standard awdbut a 6 ball slider with no outside indented groves in the joints like the standard awd axles .

this is 2 new tremor axles compared to a passenger hybrids joints , missing the shaft .
But all i can say is the hybrid and std eb joints are the same . Hybrid pass side has this extra support bearing , so their lengths are different and so is the splines ( because different transmission) if some one wants to bring a pair of standards over we can compare and do pictures for the mtc. But ive done my own measurements at the dealer and std and hybrids are the same smaller shafts and 3 ball slider joints where as the tremors , which are obviously thicker and have the bigger non indented thicker joints and different part numbers and about 35% or so more expensive ($405 vs.$280 for the pair).
Anyone else want to do more research , please do .

Those are great photos and thanks for sharing them. I hadn't seen the other threads. The last bit about them costing $125 more goes a long way to explaining why Ford chose the thinner axles for the stock mav.

If I had to guess I'd say they probably will fit a stock mav but you know how this stuff goes. If someone was planning to keep their mav long term and had to replace CV's I'd definitely consider them.

It's not clear why the old ones fail or even if the numbers are out of line since we don't have access to the statistics. Is it a bad design or just a bad batch? Hard to say from our end.
