I would have had the axle assembly replaced when the boot leaked grease out.

I've towed my 2700lb trailer (as profile pic) over 15000 miles to date since 2022 with not so much as a hint of an issue.

Sorry to jump in on the conversation between you 2 but... IMHO, the axles should be able to withstand a lift like that and not go bad after 20-30,000 miles or sooner, regardless of towing or not. I believe Ford knows this but doesn't want to foot the bill for a recall. I wonder if Ford will make some modifications to the axle for 2025.
Agreed. Maverick CV’s go bad in 20-30k miles on all-stock vehicles. Even with lift, the cv angles aren’t over 15 degrees. Every time you do a u-turn the front cv joints see 35 degrees steering angle. .

this is one of the few scenarios where I might be concerned Ford might try to pin the failure on me because of the suspension mod even though it probably wasn't the biggest factor by a long shot.

Be careful out there when towing. I have a 2022 2.0L. I towed a 3000 lb camper about 300 miles then had to be towed. I think the engine can handle it just fine but its front legs cannot. Had to get a whole new front axle!
It will tow it just fine, you were just hit by the all too common failing CV axels. The added load is likely what sent them over the edge. I had both mine replaced about 20K ago and expect them to fail in another 20K. At which point I will go aftermarket.

Welcome to the club.

Someone hasn't bothered to search- nothing to do with your tow.

I don't disagree the axles should be able to handle a mild lift but there is no argument that it changes the geometry of the suspension and does increase stress on the CV axle.

A 15% change in geometry that is constantly applied to the CV axle while at speed, over bumps and potholes - is not the same as a temporary, albeit significantly higher, stress at low speed.
