You say weight is not visible, I don't agree, I think overweight is obvious. It might depend on your training and experience. The cop doesn't have to tell you the weight, he just has to have a good idea that your overweight and he doesn't have to be correct. You could have broken springs and legal weight, engine problems where you are doing 20 mph trying to pull a hill, etc.
Speed is another issue, lets not complicate things for you.

Oh, one more thing all mavericks have tow mode which basically keeps the revs higher and downshifts to higher rpms when ur braking.
Does it work like that in just Tow Haul Mode? The reason I ask is my 2025 XLT AWD with the 2.0 EB will downshift going downhill if you don't hit the brakes in Normal Mode? If you hit the Brakes it won't downshift?

With varying degrees without braking. Yes. I dont know why on normal mode it does this. But it will downshift as normal automatic should so as to not stall but it wont be aggressive in normal mode with braking.

All modern cars detect if you are riding the brake pedal these days and will downshift as an aid to reduce brakes overheating. They also detect if you are accelerating while coasting and try to prevent a runaway.

That's correct. For 2025, the 3.81:1 final drive ratio has been standardized for all Ecoboost models.
I just found a 2025 Lariat AWD 2.0 EB with the 4k Tow Package and clicked on the Window Sticker out of Curiosity and it said 3.63 Axle Ratio?

I have a 2025 with 4k towing and this is the only trans cooler I have. The trans mounted heat exchanger type. I was expecting the smaller trans mounted cooler and then the radiator mounted air cooler

I dont even know if people can own hybrids or electric cars in those areas/ would not trust a hybrid to even sit in those 110f days you guys get out there. The battery would drain itself keeping cool lol. You would have to keep it plugged in or running 24/7.
disclaimer: Hybrid owners please dont attack.
I think the interior temps while parked would definitely put a hurt on the hybrids battery. If I owned a hybrid, I would have ceramic window tinting installed and window vents for protection when parking in sunlight.

Well after scanning/reading this thread, it appears no one really knows what they are debating. Man's ability to confuse others seems to be limitless.......

I had a 22 with 2k rating. My boat loaded is right at 3K. When I bought my 25, I paid $745 for 4k capability. Seemed like common sense and I did not really care if the rating was because of 12 fans, 4 coolers, and more lines or whatever. I think the rating by Ford has credibility, so I went with it. I guess we could put any spec under a microscope and have a thread full of "debate"?????????

I will politely disagree. I have towed a travel trailer several times with my Maverick Tremor and it was slightly overweight. It didn't look or behave any differently, other than MPG. than one that was not overloaded. Heck the squat wasn't even all that bad. The rear of the truck sat about 3/4 of an inch lower loaded than unloaded.

Oddly what I haven't seen anyone discuss here (maybe I missed it in all the squabbling) is that Ford's (and the other major manufacturers base their tow ratings on SAE standards and tests. They don't just pull them out of their collective asses. Those towing standards are tough. If you look them up it even takes into account things like the trailer's frontal area.

Now the reason I searched high and low for 4k tow even though I don't know how much towing I'll ever do is that if a manufacturer gives me a chance to upgrade the greasy bits of my vehicle for not a lot of coin, I'm going to grab that opportunity.
