Niro is my Plan B, too, also for the MPG. Gently used in my area can be had for mid to high 20's. I'll lay down and cry like a little girl though, if I have to go that route. I want my little red truck.Kia Niro PHEV:
$35k
49 mpg
33 electric miles on a charge
For me the draws with the Maverick are: hybrid, I can get into and out of it easily (I have a Corolla currently), and the price. The Niro is more expensive, but I get free charges at work so I'll probably save roughly $750-1k a year in gas relative to the Maverick. So over 5 years the Mav probably wins by about $4-5k on price. The Niro has a bigger seating area. I think I'd be content with either, though the Niro seating area being bigger is a definite plus.
