That is pretty shocking to me, as others have said, I'd report this to anyone you can - Ford Corporate will definitely want to know, NHTSA, your dealer. @Ford Motor Company . Glad you are okay.
That’s a great looking truck.
I get it. I pulled the plug on my Mav order myself today and ordered a new Subaru Outback that I can get in three months.
Have fun with your new toy!!
Now that I don’t have a horse in the race I can watch this process from a much more dispassionate position. I am very interested to see how it ends up for this model year for both eco-boost and hybrids.
Seattle area (Subaru's EVERYWHERE around here). My dealer has quite a few on the lot, quite a few more soon to arrive. If I can't find the color/option combo I want, he indicated a new order would be expected likely by Julyish, and that YES they could in fact tell me that it would be built.
Especially when most if not all manufactures provide "floor plan assistance" to their dealers that offset the costs of each vehicle waiting to be sold. If a dealer sells the vehicle as soon as it hits the lot, they are pocketing that full amount of $$.
What state are you located in? The Doc fee can likely be negotiated. The car guys at the YT channel CarEdge (formerly YAA) would tell you " If it is taxable, it is negotiable." So Doc fees, accessories etc. Anything related to the government is not.
It's the continued lack of a definitive answer as to who will get built that finally caused me to pull the plug. I'd be fine to wait if I knew I was going to be built this model year, but going a full year and then not getting scheduled, especially as an EB...too many other options for me.
I've had the same question lately since the earliest point I would receive my truck now would be August.
For the first time in this whole process, I have started to think about abandoning ship. I don’t necessarily need this vehicle, and my enthusiasm has been greatly dampened. The wait has not...
If I remember correctly -their original explanation for separating it going into this model year was it could potentially speed builds since it was a constrained item. I thought I remember that they had reduced the Lariat Lux package by the cost of the the CO-Pilot 360 assist.
If I remember what you have said previously, they still have a good chunk of EB left to schedule, and that for most it is likely an allocation game at this point?
I currently have an Eco Lariat on order - very tempted by the BAP. I've never had black leather before - and while I live in the Seattle area, and we don't have super hot summers - I am worried that it could could get too hot for comfort....
Would tinting cut it down enough? Also.......anyone...
How scary! I understand that logic often flies out the window in the moments of panic, but would flipping the truck in to neutral in this type of situation be an option?
Ecoboost could be a good idea. Allocations are currently what is holding my Eco build, but I am hoping the 3rd shift they add this July will help get all Ecos built - regardless of allocations ( foolish hopes??? Maybe)
