I ordered on July 8th. Nothing other than the conforming email.I always thought of myself as a patient person, you know, good things come to those who wait kind of guy. But this is really testing me. Ordered 1st week of August, order confirmed within a hour then nothing....crickets, nothing from dealer, nothing from Ford, at least the Bronco order has given me a production date & 2 pushed dates !
The federal mandate I assume you are referring to requires either vaccination or weekly testing. It also permits religious or medical exemptions. Also, that mandate is currently on hold because of action in the federal courts. Whether and when it will go into effect are open questions.Something bigger is looming. At U.S. plants those who are not vaccinated will not be able to work after Jan 4th. This means a lot of Dec. 31st retirements and I can see more parts delays because of it.
There is a temporary injunction. No guarantee how the courts will play out. And it doesn't stop private companies from enacting vaccine mandates. Just no way to know the future on these things.Earlier today I heard the vaccination mandate will not apply to “Larger Companies”.
I’m sure Ford is a “Larger Company”
Not sure I understand your point. Are you are saying you think it applies to smaller companies but not to larger ones? If that's not what you mean, then... what do you mean?Earlier today I heard the vaccination mandate will not apply to “Larger Companies”.
I’m sure Ford is a “Larger Company”
I think the mandate you are talking about only ever applied to employers with more than 100 employees -- so it was often referred to as a "vaccine mandate for larger employers."Thay’s the way I understood it. I very well might be wrong
My daughter works with a crew of other construction electricians. The company, as you say, cares a lot about getting the job done on schedule. My dad worked in a Ford factory for 30 years and I can assure you Ford cares more about churning out vehicles than employee safety. You'll get your Maverick.
He may have given you the 19th, because it takes 4 days to finish the build? Mine was scheduled for 10/11, but build didn't start until 10/14. 4 days later, it was built... 10/18.Like a lot of you I was scheduled Nov. 1st, then Nov. 8th, and now Nov. 15th. Although my salesman told me my new build date is the 19th. Either he has better info ( which he should have) or at least he has an actual day rather than the week of?
Does anyone know the build time? I.E. , one day two days?
I sure hope so.. I ordered 6/22/21... Hybrid lariat with lux.. still trying to patiently wait for the word that I've been scheduled... hasnt happened yet.I think I was one of the lucky ones to get scheduled last week. Thank goodness, I ordered 7-2-21. Hybrid XLT with the Lux Package and 360. Good things do come to those that wait patiently.
I would assume, but you know what happens when you assume.
The dealer was awesome even helped me find out my husband could get a $750 discount through work. So it was cheaper than the original place.I love that color. To me, this makes sense in your scenario - only if you get your exact build, and only if you pay what you were going to pay if you'd waited.
I agree with most of what you say, but the part that I find galling is that there are still so many people waiting for Ecoboost Mavericks, yet Ford has built quite a few to get to dealers so they can sell them off their lots! That doesn't seem right, fair or correct to me, when Ford has thousands of people waiting for their Maverick to be built. I didn't see in your post if you ordered a hybrid or ecoboost, but wouldn't you be a bit tweaked if your exact build showed up at your local dealership, but it was a stock order and not your retail order? Yet you've been told there are delays due to this shortage or that shortage? There are supposedly 100k reservations on Mavericks, so many that Ford is no longer taking orders for MY22! So even if half of those reservations turn into actual purchases that's still a lot of people buying Mavericks! Why then is Ford building Mavericks for stock orders when there are thousands of retail orders still needing to be filled? I have purposely not included hybrids in this because until OKTB is given it's mute point. Oh and on top of building some Mavericks for stock and not retail, now comes the news that Maverick ecoboost are being built for the South American market!! So how much further behind are all those people waiting for their ecoboost going to be?!Cactus gray Lariat with Luxury package and full size spare.
I ordered it AT the dealer on July 21st. When I asked about the wait time, I was given answers like:
“We have NO idea”
I asked if it could be months, they said “Yes”
I asked if it could be a year.
They said “I doubt it would be that long, be we don’t know. It’s anybody’s guess”
Those answers made it perfectly clear. I don’t like the waiting, but I could hardly complain about it.
Went from Nov 1st to November 8th and now it’s November 15th.
I have trouble with people being confused about the waiting time. There’s a global shortage on mannnnnnnny things. As I understand, the model, color, accessories are not the issue.
As an example: If The Maverick Truck Club went into the business of building houses, and we could not get wood, but we could get brick, we’d have no choice. Build the brick houses and the wood house customer would have to wait. I know it’s not QUITE that simple, but I think the supplies not being available, are the major factor. We must:
Accept it
Not buy a new vehicle
Or
Buy a different vehicle
Spending every waking moment on this issue only aggravates you more. You can investigate, bitch, moan and complain, but the Maverick won’t arrive one second sooner.
Leave it TF alone
