I have a dog hammock in the back seat 99% of the time. I can throw anything back there, including my hiking gear and the dogs. It's incredibly useful to have an easily accessible, out of the weather space for hauling soft goods.
About 1% of the time I have actual people back there, but when I...
Thanks for the info. The update process is such a pain (sometimes it completes, sometimes it doesn't) that I'm not really looking forward to one anyway.
Actually, I think I was being sarcastic, but that post was 4 years ago so who knows. :devil:
Anyway, I've read that the design life of automobiles is now around 125k-150k miles. And that, as a result of competitive pressure, automakers are trying to achieve a failure rate "bathtub curve" that...
It's November 2025, and I have a 22 Maverick XLT Hybrid. The reported Ford Audio Software Version is G2.5_R25074B. I don't know if that is the latest for this system or not.
I am puzzled by references I see to "Sync Lite." This was previously just called "Ford Audio."
Can anyone shed any lite...
The website says "it’s not just a visual upgrade but a practical one that enhances your driving in the long run"
So, I'm curious... What effect does this spoiler have on driving?
Ok... I've figured this out. The writer of the report was using the cost for public fast chargers, not for home charging. That makes the electricity much more expensive.
He hadn't installed a charging station at home because he was trying to get the much more expensive bi-directional charging...
That doesn't sound right to me. Using the numbers from the article I figure it like this:
The report says the Lightning gets 2.17 miles per kWh of electricity.
Average electricity price in the USA is about 17.5 cents per kWh.
So the electricity cost would be about 8 cents per mile.
So... How...
How does waiting to change the oil until 10,000 miles (the factory recommendation) gunk up the port injectors? What is the mechanism that causes that to happen?
I ask because I don't really see the connection between a delayed oil change and gunk in the fuel system. Particularly when you are...
It's a long shot, but is there anyone on here who happens to own both an ECO and a HYBRID Maverick of the same year? **
If so, could you tell us if there is a difference in your insurance costs for one versus the other?
**(I remember back in 2022 when I bought mine there were people buying...
I just checked the base price on my 2022 hybrid XLT window sticker -- $22,280.
$30,645 is a 37.5% price increase in just 3 years.
I think the newer XLTs have more stuff included at base price, but that's still one hell of a jump.
I just installed these on my 2022 XLT. The process was not difficult (the video helps), but I ran into two things folks might want to be aware of.
First, when peeling the red cover tape off the adhesive strips it is easy to accidentally peal the gray adhesive strip itself off the plastic wind...
Just got the rearview camera recall on my 2022 hybrid XLT. Mobile tech at house, took 45 minutes.
Screen is noticeably brighter. It also seems clearer -- like higher resolution -- but that could be because the brighter screen is better for my old eyes. Whatever it is, it's a big improvement...
I drive from Arizona to British Columbia and back once or twice a year, about 95% highway miles.
On those trips I average about 38 MPG.
Looking at 4 consecutive fill-ups from my last trip (north to south) I see:
Oregon=38.79 mpg,
Nevada=37.48 mpg,
Nevada=36.46 mpg, and
Arizona=40.04...
I'm thinking of getting some run-flat Bridgestone DriveGuard Plus tires for my 2022 XLT Hybrid.
Did you try them? Any comments? Any info would be appreciated.
UPDATE 5/16/24:
Dealer identified a brand-new recall (24S33) that blames this problem on the fact that "your vehicle recently received an update to the hybrid powertrain control module hpcm software calibration." That "update" was done as part of one of the previous recalls.
Fix described as...
