My father is 78 years old and has dementia. I was handling the online account for him. I just wanted to see roughly what the z plan pricing would be on a Maverick Lobo. You used to be able to view it online. I guess I'll have to see what I can do.
I'm kicking the tires on buying a new Maverick. I bought an Escape a few years ago and logged into the ford.axz.com website to generate a z plan pin since my father is a Ford retiree. I tried to log in today so I could see what Z Plan pricing is, and I get my password expired October 2022...
They are not fabric. They are like the injection molded plastic you would find on a dashboard. It's a hard surface. Tuxmat is also a Canadian company. I'm sure they know how to make a floormat in Canada to handle the winter. Here's a video of them being sprayed down:
You will have to make sure the dealer honors this. I live in Michigan where almost everybody who buys a Ford has employee pricing and dealers still charge the maximum doc fee allowed by the state. Either they don't know about it or they don't care. I paid $230 for doc fees which is the max...
Dealers make the most money from selling warranties and paint protections in the finance room. That is the profit center of the dealership. The dealership makes the least money on the actual new car sale. This isn't the mafia yet. They aren't making huge kickbacks.
A lot of times dealers push certain financing so they can finance extras like warranties. Most credit unions and banks will only finance the cost of the vehicle. Ford Motor Credit and banks like Capital One will allow people to finance in all the extras they sell like warranties.
When you refinance, your basically opening a new loan and paying off a existing loan so you would pay an early prepayment fee if there is one. Prepayment fees are rare on auto loans.
So here's a question I have about this plan. When the manufacturer warranty is expired and I'm into this Ford Protect plan, what do I do when I need service? Do I just bring the car to the dealership and it will be in the system?
I literally just told you how I got a dealer to refund me and somehow I'm the dealer/salesman screwing people. This is wild. I literally gave you good ideas. Here's another one, go look up Kevin Hunter The Homework Guy on Youtube and watch his videos.
I bought a plan for my Escape. I don't put on many miles so it was more to extend the term than mileage. The Escape is a Titanium so it has all the driver assistance features and electronics so that was why I bought it. It was pretty cheap and about $50 cheaper than Flood Ford. I paid for it...
Is your complaint it took 9 months to receive your Maverick? That's not the dealer's fault.
One of my responsibilities where I work is to monitor reputational risk for my company. Nobody cares about BBB anymore. If you want to complain, you go to the big guns first Google, Twitter, Facebook...
