I have never heard of any such charge being added to a new car purchase. Since they want to charge that fee upfront maybe you should make sure they are going to take them when you decide to change them out. Bogus!!

Try a set of Malone Uprights and you can carry as many as four large boats on the racks. Ton each side. They fold down when not in use and are easily removed Here we had two 10’ crossover kayaks and a 14’ WW Canoe. I have carried four 12’ and 14’ touring boats as well.

Mine were listed for an Escape 2.0. I believe any 2020 or newer 2.0 Turbo engines vehicle’s will fit. You might want to check a local salvage yard now. It is my understanding that Ford has discontinued offering them for new vehicles.
