Honestly, pictures of the plugs isn't really necessary. The drain is on the bottom and in plain sight. The fill plug isn't easy to get a picture of, but is the only thing on the side of the PTU that a 8mm hex wrench will go into.
Since I was changing my engine oil at 22,000 I decided to wait the extra 2,000 and do the PTU then also.
I was advised to change the PTU fluid every 20-30,000mi and now I know why. There was quite a bit of metallic particles in the gear oil.
Sorry about the reflection.. Best pics I could...
Yeah,
Getting ready to turn 20,000 miles (18,000 with the can installed) and less than 1oz of fluid from it. I even removed the drain hose, to check for possible obstruction and found nothing.
I am at a loss.
I've had my can installed for months and "empty" it every 3,000 miles. That being said, I haven't gotten more than one ounce of liquid out of it in total. Am I missing something?
Sorry for not updating everyone.. I thought that I had!
What I found, was that the hose connection to the valve cover wasn't nearly tight enough. I ended up getting blowby residue immediately behind that connection. My solution was to use a zip-tie tool and put two zip-ties on the connection...
Ethanol alone has: 76,330 Btu/gallon
Pure gas has: 120,286 Btu/gallon
The pure gas has a lot more energy in it, than ethanol. Ethanol reduces the amount of energy available and that means more fuel per mile.
