I am sorry you have this. I agree that it looks like a reaction to the dash cover, a cleanser, or both. Have you tried a vinyl or a cleaner/
restorer?

Dash covers do three things: they eliminate glare, they avoid much of the heat a dark plastic absorbs from the sun, and they offer some noise abatement a smoother surface does not.
plastics cleaner/restorer?

I've had success using restorers and cleaners by Chemical Guys on older cars. Many brands have something similar but I can only vouch for what I've used.

No matter the brand, send them an email with pics to see what's suggested.

But I would first clean with warm water and a rag as you need to remove whatever residue is still there and then try to restore.

Man that dash looks bad, very sorry you have this experience.

And lastly, I disagree with any one thinking that the plastics in our Mavs are junk. They are just fine, take proper care is all.

I enjoy manuals and the one I got; a rather wonderfully chunky book has some care instructions. Reference page 326 with special attention to page 329.

Also, don't cover that pretty dash, it's cool looking.

And lastly, clear UV filtering tints are available for some preventative measures. They've also helped in slowing rock chips from further spidering.

Thanks for this information! I should have been a little more clear. I have had the SS cataract surgery and it helped some for daylight driving. My night vision went to hell though. I was given glasses for night time driving which help a little. Still see those "stars" when the oncoming headlights are pointed my way. I eat walnuts also! I also do cashews and almonds but have never heard about the Brazil nuts. I need to ask my friends what percentages of their windows are tinted so I get a better understanding. Thanks again!
FYI I assume you are VA also. In any case my VA issued me two different eye drops the most used one is the standard off the shelf $9-$10 which is good for moderate dry eyes (one of many light scatter causes). The second is high $$ prescription stuff for extra dry, red, "scratchy" eyes. It apparently has a lubricant which stays quite awhile. Might be off shelf version, I never looked as I qualify 100% VA MEDICAL. Maybe that will help some. You might try the off the shelf stuff just before you get in car at night and if that helps some talk to opthalmologist for prescription stuff. Might just ask where your prescriptions are filled if he has sample?
You might stop by tint shop and see if he has a scrap 5%/99+% IR that he can slap on passenger side to test? Ask tint guy for anti light scatter tint as clear as possible?
Good luck

Thanks. I go to VA but only 20%. I could get prescriptions there, but get through wife's private insurance as I am still on her insurance. The glasses at night do the trick almost perfectly so no big issue, unless I leave them at home. Wife needs two prescription drops she takes for glaucoma. Will stop by one of those tint shops and ask some questions!

Never had an issue with any of the plastic interior being sticky in hot weather.

I was a volunteer Fire chief/EMT for over 20 years. Our district was busy and I'll bet I have responded to a few hundred vehicle crashes, many with bag deployments. Those dash covers won't be an issue. They attach to the dash with a few strips of small velcro, with cheapo glue that barely holds the cover to the dash. I have seen a few dash covers after bag deployment and most end up smashed to the inside of the windshield. Also, the detonators are VERY powerful and honestly, many times the folks in the car can get some fairly serious facial injuries from the bags them selves. We had to take classes on how to deactivate (can't do it on some of them) the airbags, as many first responders have been seriously injured and killed while extricating people out of the vehicles. We never had it happen, but we were always thinking and being careful around those things. Dash cover hurting someone? Nah.
🤔
Sounds like common sense to me.
Thank You

Regarding different, similar materials not playing well together.
I have a really nice Danbury Mint 007 Aston Martin DB5 that Was in a clear plastic display case. After a period of time I took it out to admire it and to my horror found it stuck to the case bottom. A little bit of effort got it loose but left four perfect imprints of each tires tread pattern in the clear plastic base Both the models tires and the plastic case are petroleum products and the two definitely did not mix well.
After all these responses I do feel that the Mavericks dash/interior materials may be off🤔 a little causing some of these issues.
I hope just “a little” 😉

If your glasses do the trick at night and should help glare during day, I feel the anti glare window tint in whichever visual blockage you want it will lower glare during day also by blocking UV ALSO, IR IS FOR HEAT REDUCTION. The 5% visual blockage is almost not noticeable.

Exactly, cheap materials from overseas vendors.
And here we have an example of the opposite.
First example is from Mabett MSRP $29.99 it has two compartments and one of them also has a rubber pad. It also includes A 17mm ball mount and magnetic phone mount.

The competitor is 3D printed in the USA. It was sold on Etsy with shipping over $29
It came with no options. The bottom tab that holds it into the cubby broke off on first use.
The foam squares that you see next to it I had to use in order for it to hold its shape and not collapse.
This goes to show you everybody with the 3D printer shouldn't consider themselves manufacturers.

I get enough interest I'll shoot a video of me crushing the 3D printed one in my gloved hand.

I've had 50% Ceramic Tint on my windshield since about a week after purchase in March 2022. Had to get it done again when the Windshield cracked from a rock a week later.
Dash barely gets warm in direct sunlight.

Nobody can tell it's tinted unless I tell them.

Doesn't look like it would fare very well.
I’ve got more than a few things from China that are very well made, your phone mount looks pretty nice.

... I need to ask my friends what percentages of their windows are tinted so I get a better understanding. Thanks again!
Tint percentages always seem backwards. They represent the amount of light transmitted, not blocked. 5% limo tint only allows 5% of the light to come through, the other 95% is blocked.
I haven't added tint my Maverick YET ('24 Lariat comes factory with 70% front and 22% rear), but I did my Fusion very shortly after I bought it. The Fusion also had factory solar glass and I added ceramic tint on top of that. The windshield and both front side windows were done in the lightest ceramic tint the shop had (70%) and you could only see it was lightly tinted when you looked through 2 layers (like the windshield and a side window, or from one side of the car through both front side windows to what is on the opposite side. One 70% layer was nearly imperceptible, and that was on top of the factory 70%.

Add the ceramic tint, it will help with glare and help keep the interior cooler. Remember the front windshield is the largest surface area, so tint it as well. Also get a dark, non sparkly dash mat to reduce the glare off the dash. Keep the windows clean inside as the plastic fog increases the glare as well.

If you're talking about the 3D printed piece of garbage Made in the USA you're exactly correct.

The one made by Mabett in China is Great. You can tell the quality just from the pictures.
The magnetic phone mount is made out of metal and is extremely strong and heavy duty. I may see if it'll work with my Garmin GPS.
