Just started the truck, warm day, AC on, blower on 3rd notch, drove maybe 2 miles, sitting at stoplight, the AC blower suddenly quit. WTH? Noticed the lights on 3 buttons off…the AC button, the recirculate button, and other beside it. Baffled, I hit off button. Then hit AC button. Nothing. Turn blower speed knob, saw two lites on knob. Hit Max cool button. Finally got full blow, cold air! Let that run a minut, then adjust for normalized cooling. Returned to normal operation way it’s suppose to work.

Judging of my knowledge of vehicle AC system I think maybe the AC evaporator freezed, since no blow nor cold air. What’s baffling, is I just started the truck up, drove a mere 2 miles. Did this many times in this heat, never experienced this before.

Prob not worth taking back to dealer if this is a minor hic cup, and maybe not repeated again by them.

Any clue appreciated.
I never have a problem with my A/C but if I stop and the autostop turns the engine off the A/C switches to low fan and no cold air until the engine restarts.

I had something similar happen to me. I drove to the store and everything was normal. I had the A/C set to auto at 74°. Went into the store and came back about 15 minutes later. I started the truck and the instrument cluster was off. The HVAC was also dead. None of the HVAC controls functioned. The shifter wouldn't shift out of park.

I ended up shutting the truck off, getting out and locking it (double press) and waiting about 5 minutes. Upon restarting, everything came back like nothing happened. It hasn't happened since. Very weird.

No clue, but I leave mine on 68-70, set auto to 1st or 2nd mode and leave it alone 99% of the time. Been fine.

Mavericks call it manual a/c but actually using the auto mode is indeed auto.

Give it a try, set temp to 70, set auto to 1. Then turn down your temp to 60. It will automatically increase speed.

What I'm getting at, set it and forget it. Can't remember last time I actually used the blower knob. Let the system do it's one thing.
Mine has been on 74 for 2 years now, all is good.

Today I drove the truck for short drive to get lunch. Turn off the auto S/S switch. Drove short drive, all AC controls lights bright. Stopped to pick lunch.
Got back in, started up, hit the auto S/S switch, and AC worked fine.

I once noticed at a stop light with auto S/S on, engine did stop as designed to do. But surprised the steering wheel not steers. Once light turn green, press gas petal, then steering comes alive. Scary at first till realization kicks in brain that this was intention.
