Did a search for those terms and didn't find what I was looking for. Curious about how to drop the weight of a '24 Maverick Hybrid below 3,500 lbs. Tailgate and ¼ tank of gas being obvious....

Background is Ford Transit 350 HD AWD can tow 3,500 and I'd like to be able to do so. Thank you for any insight.

there isnt very much removeable on cars nowadays. beyond the basics like less in the fuel tank, remove the spare, there is very little left that doesnt require modification. Could probably go see what people in the fast maverick's facebook group have also removed to help them lose weight. I know its not discussed much but if you can switch out to much lighter rims, the rolling friction and the force to stop it should become easier to manage.

Does it have a hitch that you are not using and if so OEM or aftermarket? If aftermarket you could also remove the rear bumper bar if weight is more important than what would happen if you get hit from the back. The OEM hitch replaces the bumper bar.

How much weight exactly does it have to lose to get to 3,500? Might need to scale it to determine exact weight. Various options add weight which results in a general range of 3,550 to 3,750. If you're at the low end, should be fairly easy to remove 50lbs with the tailgate, spare, jack etc. At the high end of the range, may not be possible.

The hybrids max suggested towing capacity is 2,000lbs. I'd advise sticking to that limit for safety's and warranty sake. Even IF it could pull that much you could experience handling issues not to mention stressing the drive train as the hybrid doesn't have the beefed up rad cooling etc.
