This makes me wonder if the connector is the 12 pin connector in front of the passenger wheel. I can try checking that and see if there is water build up or something.
I'm still under warranty. The odd thing is on start up. The infotainment and the dash display 2 different numbers. The dash is obviously wrong but once AA starts, it takes over the infotainment and it displays the wrong temp too.
This has been going on for a while now. So on the dash screen, my displayed temperature is around 30 deg higher than actually outside. While it doesnt appear to affect how the truck runs. It does cause the HVAC to not work correctly on start. So instead of heated seats or steering wheel turning...
Been experimenting with these things to customize them. If you're looking to do aftermarket wheels that match your own, these are just a few things to know. Most wheels are 9mm in size. tires come in 11mm, 12mm, and 14mm.
For the hotwheels, the fronts are 11mm and the rears at 12.5mm. 12mm...

So when it comes to existing bolts on the maverick. Those are all galvanized and we are only sandwiching anodized aluminum pieces between them and the truck.
Then there are the 6 holes in the kit itself. of those involve 2 of them into zinc plated nuts, The others screw into the anodized...
My 2 cents on this. you can buy color matched spray paint. So, find the bug defector you want. give it a good sanding on the painted side to let it bond. spray paint it the color you want. clear it. and you're good.
I did part of my truck that way too...
if you're saying he's doing vacuum metallization, he might already have a customer lol. Its near impossible to find companies who do that for individuals.
They dont peel off.
if you use any kind of paint thinner, its taking off the paint too. ive had some luck with goo gone. also managed to remove some of it with a finger nail.
Best online ive seen
J Car Diecast has them for $6 but they out of stock
Wheel Collectors LLC has them for $7 in stock right now.
Normally a moving parts car is $3 so not the worst markup.
