If you wire the switch in that included with the kit, You can turn off the fog lights and still have the backlights work. The backlights are wired in separately from the fog lights and will always be powered as long as the truck's marker lights are powered. The backlights will always turn off...
I literally just did the F150 switch, It honestly feels a lot harder than it really is when you're not the most mechanically inclined. I think a lot of things that would seem self explanatory to others could be documented and would help a lot because there was definitely some trial and error for...
So from my own knowledge and checking over the forum this is what i've found. I know since I accidentally hooked into pin 1 and it didnt trigger anything that its likely not the high beams. pin 3 is the low beams from the diode dynamics fog lights. pin 8 is what srtkr used for his drl hookups...
@Vtec87pr1 can you describe what the #5 setting does as power supply. When I originally used it, my lights were always on unless I turned the truck off. I'm assuming it just sent enough current to trigger the DD harness on. Does the switch still control the lights using that setting?
So one last thing, I was putting together all the forscan changes so that I could be added to that master list thing on another thread. This is more just curiousity but any guesses on What the DRL and Fog only modes are for the lights? Cornering is suppose to be for turning the wheel and turn...
Is it worth documenting all this information where it can be or would the save files be enough?
I was considering copying out all the information into a spreadsheet. Also trying to remember how long accessory mode runs before the truck powers off or can we turn the truck on while using forscan?
I guess I was more meaning more of how to disassemble it. Like to press in the the two tabs on the curved end of the cover and cutting the zip tie to release it. This just wasn't obvious to me at first. The red part only popped out around 1/4" for me but allowed me to insert the connector. I've...
Well, I could use some advice. started to to add to the connector. took a minute to figure out the handle. I'm unsure how to go about taking it apart to add the pin. I can remove the handle part but i not seeing how to get the rest of the connector apart yet. its honestly a little hard to stay...
Does anyone have the dimensions for the cavity in the fender badge. Was wanting to try and make my own version of those lenses people put lights and was hoping to find either some known dimensions of that hole or an existing cad file of it.
I want to say I know who your talking about as he commented specifically about that battery on a facebook post I made a while back. Its on my list to install too.
Here I am wondering if your shop commented on my FB post b/c they said they did an install and missed the backlight and are trying to figure out how to get it hooked up without removing the entire bumper again.
I got the switch in and I got the lights in. Just gotta play with the BCM to get wire 6 or 7 in. I'm not going to fully do it like you did but just use one wire as a signal.
