I ordered and waited for an XL Hybrid. So glad I did! I only NEEDED to change the wheels. The rest I'm very happy with.
I have waited since 9/17/22 and I got another email yesterday. I’ve come to the current situation thinking how bad do I need this truck? I’m losing trade in value on my 2020 Escape SEL and Ford doesn’t doesn’t care the last customer service rep was not helpful at all. Oh Lord, how much longer?

Holy crap, 47% of orders are XL?
Seems high when you see it in percent. But when you look at it in raw numbers 35K * 0.47 = 16,450 XL orders.

Assuming the UAW strike does not get them, they can probably schedule another 100K Mavericks.

100K * 23% XLs = 23,000, so they should have the capacity.

Dealer allocations though is still king.

I wonder how trim level and drive train will impact future resale values. We elected to go with the Lariat Hybrid. Once you deduct the 23 rollover 2500 private offer and 500 Farm Bureau rebates your looking at 32,130 before delivery and TTL. Seems a decent price for a fully loaded truck. The 24 XL Hybrid starts at 27,140.

If dealers really stayed within their allocations this year, the only ones not built this year would be roll overs that exceded the allocations a given dealer got. Seems like Ford would handle this somehow for the customer's good. Ford would not like for a rollover order not to to be built again if they can avoid it I would think. Maybe deduct those orders from future allocations for example.

I have heard the XL wheel is what is holding up the builds. Doesn’t specifically show up as constraint for that wheel so who knows?

Based on the numbers of XLs orders here, it seems they may be leaving some wiggle room in overall capacity to make sure no rollovers need to happen. How that works with the allocation system though, without rewarding that situation, is a mystery. I like your theory on potential reduction though.

Same day I ordered my 23. They are catching up though. Only 35,000 unscheduled trucks in the order bank now.

The top 3 heavily constrained items at this point are Front Splash Guards, XL trim, and Hard Trifold.

All orders are theoretically within capacity this year, but will take nearly the entire model year to clear the backlog on splash guards.

Assuming they hit 150k VINs this year, it will take until August to fulfill all XLs in the bank(allocations permitting). EB Lariats and XLTs could be caught up in March.

There are currently 35,004 total retail unscheduled orders as of 10/16/23.

Retail USOB: Is the current mix of retail orders in the unscheduled order bank (USOB) at the time the report was run. The report only looks at orders that are “clean”, meaning they do not have a compatibility error, material hold or on 99 priority code.

this is very reassuring as the '24 Lariat i ordered has nothing in the red. i know that wont by itself get my Mav scheduled sooner, but it cant hurt.

@commadorebob , for the newer members on this site that might be viewing this....if you happen to have a link or anything relating to it, could you explain what your almost slogan of "allocations are king"...means. It seems like we may be starting to get to that point where dealership allocations are going to be the issue/delay.
We have already been there for a long time. That is why there are those of us who have waited over a year and still do not have build dates while others who just ordered back in July are already getting scheduled. It is unfair that some breeze through and jump to the front of the line, but life's not fair and allocations is king.

Not sure I follow the comment here...

I would assume the ones who waited over a year (I was just over 1 year when I got my Maverick) are aware of how this whole messy process works and how some new orders scheduled before rollovers and all that jazz.

But as order banks are still open and new people are ordering them still and joining MTC... I figured it would be helpful to spread the word about allocations and the kind of messy process this whole thing is to the new people. And thus answer the potential to "why hasnt my brand new 24MY order been scheduled yet, I placed the order on day 1...." posts appear.

Just trying to be helpful to the potential newbies on the site that could be viewing / waiting for their email for the first few thursday updates ... and help them see that its a messy process and explain why they may not get any emails or scheduled for months and months.

I was just responding to, " It seems like we may be starting to get to that point where dealership allocations are going to be the issue/delay." What I meant was we are not getting to that point we are there. Your post and mine are well intentioned. You are doing exactly what this page is meant for, to inform those who don't know or are new to this whole order and wait process.

ahh ok, now I see what was being said! I just am trying to help out the ones who are new and that I knew that @commadorebob had a very long post created about the allocation process...and hope that it gets used / viewed more because it is super helpful!

Yes, allocations are going to start to matter, especially if you have a Tremor or EB order as Ford scheduled 90% of the outstanding Tremors last week. Hybrids won't be overly impacted by allocations, per se, for a while. They are more likely to be impacted by constraints.

Unfortunately I just received an email from Ford... my production date has moved from Nov 6 to Nov 26. Given the holidays I can't even guess when I might actually take delivery. Hybrid XLT with Lux and Co Pilot. SOOO Disappointing.
