Either a lie or incompetent. Every dealer was given a sheet of allocations in late June/early July with a number of rollovers, new allocations, and a breakdown of approximate mix (hybrid/EB, XL/XLT/Lariat, the packages).

I called around to 5 or 6 dealerships when choosing this year and only 2 would tell me the allocation numbers. One only had a few new allocations total, the other had 23 new allocations with 7 being hybrid and even emailed me a copy of the sheet to prove it. I'm not sure I can share it, though maybe if I redacted a bunch of info on it... (maybe there's one on here somewhere)
My guess as well. I didn’t think they would tell me how many allocations they had, but I got a bit of a laugh about being at the top of the priority list. I bet that is what he tells all of the girls he dates.

Dear Ford Motor Company. I have waited a very long time for a xl 23. To get rolled to a 24 and been promised to be prioritized and still being pushed off yet again. I run a business and will never feed my customers the BS you do.

Well Ford continues to surprise... received notice today that my build was pulled in from December 4th to November 13th...

XLT EB Lux Tremor, ordered the day the 2024 order bank opened.

There are currently 35,640 total retail unscheduled orders as of 10/23/23.

Retail USOB: Is the current mix of retail orders in the unscheduled order bank (USOB) at the time the report was run. The report only looks at orders that are “clean”, meaning they do not have a compatibility error, material hold or on 99 priority code.

See the previous commodity report.

My 24, Lariat hybrid has been pushed back to the week of October 30. It was originally scheduled for this week.
It’s no big deal as I am driving my 23. The hard part is deciding to A: become a two Maverick family.
B: Trading in my 23 Lariat for the 24
C: figuring out how to somehow trade in my son’s Cherokee and figure out some good old dad way for him to buy (he lives 1500+ miles away).
D: Walking away from the 24 which is the one thing that I want to do the least.
question: I got my Z plan pin from my brother. Can I buy the Maverick and then transfer it to my son right away or do you still need to own the vehicle for 6 months before it can be sold?

The strike no matter how you want to spin it has delayed the 24 production. That doesn’t make anyone feel any better. The 24 that I ordered was ordered during the 2023 order period in the fall of 2023. I bought mine off of the lot when I found what I wanted .
The sales have slowed and the dealers are starting to build inventory in the Detroit area. You might be able to buy one off of the lot now if are looking for an XL.

Same old shuck and jive. Seeing new orders being scheduled while the rollovers sit. My order hit the big 400 day mark today. Who would have thought that an XL Ecoboost would be so hard to get?

You, being the purchaser, are agreeing to the terms of the Z plan which state that you will keep the vehicle a minimum of 6 months. That means in your, the purchasers, name. I sold a Bronco Sport, that I bought on the Z plan, to Carvana last year, 6 months to the day after I bought it. :)

I don't plan to sell mine, but who / how is that policed and what's the penalty? Seems a bit more of an on your honor or cases of severe abuse thing.

Don’t know how it’s policed. Never abused it. The sponsor (whoever you got the Z plan from) could run risk of losing their Z plan privileges. 🤷‍♂️

Looks like the strike will be over soon for Ford: Hopefully you can see the link https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2023/10/25/uaw-strike-ford-updates/

I don’t know how it was policed however the penalties included losing your benefit and for Aplan they could fire you.
Back when where I worked was eligible for Aplan a supervisor ordered a thunderbird that was going to be a hard sell. The guy backed out of the deal and was almost fired over it. The dealer called Ford and complained.
I wish that I had my benefits but I lost them when I retired. That’s one thing I wish the UAW could help with. I heard comments that I could negotiate the same deal myself.,so far that has not worked

I'm an X-plan and 6mo seems like it would be here and gone before I'm even used to the truck. I also hope to get 20 years out of it like my previous car.

Of coarse though all the flip talk and crazy market values are messing with my head. Not for profit but the idea that I could change my mind, put an order in for AWD or Hybrid and sell the current one without a loss is mind boggling.

Oh today was scheduling day…. I don’t even care anymore. From the “we will prioritize the 23 roll overs” to the thousands of dollars over MSRPs at the dealerships…..the shine has definitely started to wear off this penny.
