I dont respond to the dealers calls anymore since I already have one and they don’t seem to take me off their list even if I tell them I have one now.

I assume most of them are EB. I have no idea of the markups.

Just wanted to let people know that there seems to be some available if you decide the wait isn’t worth it anymore, or you just need a truck right away.

BTW, I bought my hybrid in April from a dealer in Texas. I paid for delivery, and a markup, but I got a Maverick without waiting. I needed a new vehicle asap though.

Just a thought.
We live in Texas and I've seen a few. But refused to pay the 10K markup or the amount for atrocious upgrades they add on to avoid calling it a markup.

When people see the loan rates and markups their budget says no so they pass on trucks others refused. LM just dropped the markup on their hybrid to 2500 over MSRP. The Ecoboosts are 1k over.

A dealer's snapshot is on the 20th of the month so allocations for the next month can be calculated. Vehicles on the books by the last day of the month earn supplemental allocations.

All their retail orders have always been MSRP. The main reason the trucks on the lot are customers doubled orderes.

There have been at least 2 on the lot for the last 4 months by my house in Aurora. They may sit for a week or two till they sell, then a couple more shows up. No hybrids. Mostly base models with a 5K markup. This week has the first cyber orange. I'm still holding out for my red XLT.

I‘m just trying to keep these jerks from boasting about it.

For too long people have congratulated them on their dealings, not even thinking through the repercussions of their own orders in waiting.

These people should be the pariah of these forums, not made to feel welcome. If I was waiting on a Maverick and somebody shoved me back in line so that they could flip a truck that could have been mine I would be pretty upset.

Which one of you people are still waiting for your truck because of people like this proud, greedy, flipper?

However - this is simply supply and command.

Carvana (or Vroom) doesnt have to pay me a dime over MSRP - yet they do.

Why does Carvana offer to pay me more than MSRP? Because they can sell it to someone dumb enough to buy over MSRP and banks willing to lend over MSRP.

So in actuality who is really at fault? Answer: the buyer.

Whats the solution? People stop buying over MSRP.

Last point - if I dont do it someone else will - so why shouldnt it be me.

I don't think this comes up enough, but yes - when you go to three dealers and place orders trying to get one faster, it slows it down for everyone else, along with giving the opportunity for markups.

As far as Mavericks showing a thousand or more under MSRP I’ve noticed something a on my local dealers website.
If a vehicle is showing as “dealer ordered” or “in transit “ it will be listed under MSRP. Once it actually arrives and is on the lot, if it’s available for sale is when the price games start. They also show low prices for in transit customer ordered cars, most of which will never be available to purchase because the ordering customer buys it and doesn’t turn it down

1 - you can't find a hybrid on a lot for MSRP
2 - as @olman said, anything listed under MSRP is just a dealer baiting and gaming the online searches to get you to contact them about a truck that they will not sell at that advertised price

oh and 3 - I "flipped" one b/c they messed up my Lariat order for '23 and it didn't get adaptive cruise. Went directly to a buyer - didn't own it long enough for a Carvana quote. If buyers weren't willing to overpay, there would be no flippers - at some point the market will flip and people will be stuck in vehicles they overpaid for, including new/used car dealers. Until that day - make hay while the sun shines! Flipping new vehicles for a profit - that is a once in a lifetime situation. "A new vehicle loses 20% of its value when you drive it off the lot" - NOT! :D

My 2023 base hybrid just showed up a few weeks ago - already sold it carvana for $3500 more than I paid for it.
Sales tax here is over 8%. Not worth it just to flip. On the other hand, after private offer I’m getting a hybrid utility vehicle for about 23k that will likely give over 10 years / 100,000 miles of economical service so it’s a slam dunk.
I’m glad the frenzy seems to be quieting down on these. Never seemed right paying over sticker for a vehicle.

Yeah, it makes me wonder if dealers are getting customer delivery refusals, or if the market is really slowing down, or if the markups are just too high now or what?
Could be any number of reasons. A friend of mine has had one on order for a while with no sign of production yet, and then his dealer called him about one that had come in for another client but the client decided they didn’t want it. So his salesman called him and he took that Maverick instead. He did not cancel the other order because he would probably take it anyway and give it to his brother or something! Nice to be in a financial position to be able to do something like that.

Right at the point when I was completely exasperated, and had yet to have a production date, I went poking around the entire southeast for Mavericks at dealers. Many dealers listed them, but they really weren’t available and didn’t really exist even though there was a photo of them on their website; they were basically teasers to get you to call them.

I did actually call one dealer in Atlanta and ask them about this Maverick that didn’t really exist. What they did do is offer to place an order for me when the order banks were open as long as I put down a deposit. Not only would they not honor A-plan or X-plan, they had a surcharge over MSRP, which they said was absolutely not negotiable. I kind of silently laughed at that because I’ve never put a deposit down on an order and I would never deal with a dealer that wouldn’t respect the A-plan or x-plan pricing.

My dealer Emailed me ,asking if I was still interested in buying a Maverick and they had one avaliable , even though I just purchased one from them. Must be some kind of mistake. I just thought it was strange that I never recieved an email like this in the 10 months I waited for the Maverick I ordered.

Yup, lots of false advertising/bait &switch on dealers websites. I looked at dozens and dozens of hybrids online only to find out that they really didn’t exist anymore.
Fords website auto finder just exacerbated the problem.

About the only hybrids available are the ones the greedy flippers turned over.

Lots of anger over dealerships hiking prices, why no anger over the private parties here doing the same thing, and boasting about it?

I don’t care how some of you rationalize it, you‘re stealing money from those who want to buy a vehicle to keep for themselves. You’re also stealing available product from them.

You have your Maverick, you are simply draining the tight supply for greedy personal profit.

You are thieves, and I will continue to call you out whenever I see one of your proud posts about flipping one for personal gain at the expense of others.

Stealing is if someone takes something you have that doesn't belong to them.

If you pay more for a vehicle because you want it, or refuse to buy a vehicle because it costs more than you want to pay, that's NOT anyone stealing from you.

MY24 Maverick order banks are OPEN right now and have been open for a month. Anyone who wants a Maverick at MSRP is welcome to place an order TODAY and wait just like I did.
