  1. Rim damage from pinch weights

Of course they are not common. Hammering a lead weight with a steel bracket molded in onto anything made of aluminum is going to cause some damage. Y’all know aluminum is quite soft. FWIW my factory wheels on my 2025 Lariat are tape weights.
  2. Any ford dealer mechanics/ service advisors on here

I personally know a few...but they don't come to these forums, and they really don't have a high opinion of them. They cannot be bothered. There may be some that lurk but they don't reveal themselves. It's not the tack on bells and whistles...it's the shade tree mechanics hacking the FORSCAN...
  3. So Long

Ford parts inventory, well, isn't. I waited a month to get a driver's side mirror when my 2019 Flex had it taken off by a deer. Finally the insurance company, who doesn't like junkyard parts, ordered a junkyard mirror because there was no ETA on a Ford part. This was in 2022. My aunt waited...
  4. Rim damage from pinch weights

My goodness, an [aluminum or magnesium] ALLOY wheel does NOT get clamp on weights. Never. It is supposed to get tape weights specifically to prevent the issue you are having. As others have indicated, the damage to the inside of the wheel is minimal; a little paint will fix it. Not optimal of...
  5. Auto-Dimming Mirror with Homelink Garage Door Opener Installed! DIY how-to tutorial

Well, to be honest, I don’t recall having a power passenger front seat in anything but the highest level of trim. That would generally be the platinum or titanium editions on certain for models.
  6. Why Are 2025 Lariats So Hard to Find?

You will never know what it is like to NOT make a payment. Unless you are one of those people (there are some) that smartly and carefully buy a used car, one that has taken that initial hit of depreciation, drive it for a year or two, and sell it smartly, there's really no such thing as "not...
  7. Tire Pressure

I generally check and fill my tires at Costco where air is [still] free. Their air pumps default BACK to 35 psi after a few moments. Not too long ago they put another label on their pump that says something like your tire pressure label is COLD pressure, and if you drove more than 2 miles to get...
  8. Auto-Dimming Mirror with Homelink Garage Door Opener Installed! DIY how-to tutorial

I’ve only had Ford vehicles since 1987. Mostly higher level trims but rarely the highest. Auto dim mirrors have been a standard item on all of them for at least 20 years. Imagine my surprise when my first Lariat, 2023, didn’t have it…only matched by my surprise at its missing on the 2025. Not to...
  9. Why Are 2025 Lariats So Hard to Find?

Yeah kinda tough to lease when you put on that many miles
  10. Why Are 2025 Lariats So Hard to Find?

A car isn’t an investment. It’s a tool. We need them to get around… There are plenty of collector cars that appreciate in value. In the past five years some top performers have been the Datsun Z cars, Toyota Supra, Acura NSX, some Ferraris and Mercedes along with the Porsche 911. But, you buy...
  11. Why Are 2025 Lariats So Hard to Find?

You cannot create a Lariat by buying a stripper XL or XLT, and then going crazy with owner added accessories. Oh sure, you can buy expensive alloy wheels and then-do what with the new old steel ones? You can buy interior accessories, truck bed accessories but you can’t buy adaptive cruise...

  13. Maverick party, Onekama, Michigan

speaking of the 1970s, as part of this vacation fun, we went to a concert the other night up at Interlochen Fine Arts, near Traverse City… … Jefferson Starship, the Marshall Tucker band, and headliner, Bachman Turner Overdrive!! Still rocking after all these years!
  14. Maverick party, Onekama, Michigan

Three Mavericks all at the same house. The blue is a 2022 XLT.. The green is a 2025 Lariat. The Area 51 is a 2023 Lariat. All hybrid. For those curious about the geography, that is the Portage Lake channel right behind the cars and Lake Michigan in the background.
  15. Why Are 2025 Lariats So Hard to Find?

Leasing vs buying is not a discussion ANYONE should make or even engage in if they are driving cars 15-20 years old, and happy with that choice. Not for me. For me, leasing works.
  16. Why Are 2025 Lariats So Hard to Find?

It’s not “the same with cars.” You’re missing the entire key point of the discussion. Homes and houses, in most places, and for the most part are appreciating assets. There are exceptions, but in most cases, these are facts. There have been multiple homes nearby to me that have been for the...
  17. Why Are 2025 Lariats So Hard to Find?

Investing $500 a month is a great idea! Doesn’t address the issue of what to do if you need a car. You’ll still have payments if you finance a depreciating asset to own it, or you’ll have $40K tied up in a depreciating asset sitting in your driveway. Every mile and every day of any car will...
  18. Why Are 2025 Lariats So Hard to Find?

I have friends that buy used cars, and run them till they die. Some 20 years old, 150k miles or more. Cars are an annoyance to them. Other friends buy a 2-3 year old low mileage car, buying very wisely, keep it for another 2 years, selling it and starting again. A lot of work and luck. This is...
  19. Why Are 2025 Lariats So Hard to Find?

Exactly. Little to no upfront cost. Lower monthly lease payment vs purchase agreement if financing No large sum of $$$ tied up if buying outright. New vehicle every 2-3 years Little to no maintenance cost. Lease will terminate before you need to buy tires…another one time $800 expense. Concept...
