  1. Tailgate spoiler

Your “blind observer” argument is nonsense. What if they decided to go 90 mph on parts of the route? What if they drove with the windows down? What if they used cruise control part of the time? Those variables, and any others, would eclipse any “Observer bias” test results. I mitigated as many...
  2. Tailgate spoiler

Just checked before a wash and it’s actually cleaner. Yes, the tailgate stays much cleaner, showing that the airflow, (and dirt), isn’t swirling back on itself. Sounds like it is doing its job. If it doesn’t go under your vehicle, or plaster itself against the grill, you’ll notice that light...
  3. Tailgate spoiler

I didn’t claim a 20% increase, I said I got 5mpg better on the highway at 75mph. I get a lot better gas mileage than the epa estimates anyway. Congrats, you just made my Ignore list.
  4. Tailgate spoiler

Look at the tailgate lip of every late model, higher end, full size truck you see. There is a spoiler built right into the sheet metal in the same shape as the add on Mav unit. The design works. Mavericks are budget trucks. Fleet MPG numbers vary with every vehicle a manufacturer makes. They...
  5. Tailgate spoiler

My test results included 3, 100 mile, round trips, no cruise control, with the same route, wind speed, (none), air temperature, and traffic patterns, with and without the spoiler. It was a serious controlled test, the best I could do. I also have a very flush Ford tourneau cover which...
  6. Tailgate spoiler

    Not true.
  7. Tailgate spoiler

Most aftermarket, probably not. But, apparantly Air Design/ Ford OEM does. Ford not only has a wind tunnel but also the computing capability and knowledge to design aerodynamic parts with, or without, tunnel testing. As I said, I got substantially better highway MPG after installing mine, it...
  8. Tailgate spoiler

It looks good, and the color matched letters are great! Having gone from no letter inserts, to black inserts, and now color matched inserts, I like the matched best. Color matched is THE WAY.
  9. Tailgate spoiler

It’s about rear air turbulence reduction, not downforce. Spoilers on non-high performance cars are there for decreased drag and better fuel economy. My OEM rear spoiler netted me around 5mpg at 75mph highway speeds. Hopefully the OP’s unit is as well designed for that as the OEM spoiler.
  10. Hybrid badge

I garage mine so at least I won’t have to worry about night theft. I know, I’m that weird generation that thinks garages are made for automobiles, not for loading to the brim with cheap plastic Chinese junk and boxes of stuff I bought, ( on credit), but never use….
  11. Hybrid badge

The higher gas prices get the more I notice low MPG pickups longingly looking at me as I fill up. Prices at the pump won’t hurt as bad for hybrid owners. Shortages will still suck, but, again, not as bad for us. The shortages and unavailability coming are going to rock peoples worlds. BTW...
  12. Hybrid badge

Must be the case. BTW, have you noticed how EB owners like to disrupt hybrid owners threads and topics? We don’t put our two cents into EB threads, we don’t care that they choose a turbo. I have never interjected my opinion in the EB forum. I could care less what they are talking about. I...
  13. Hybrid badge

I stand corrected on availability, and on Website defaults. Much has changed the last year. Glad to see people are opting for hybrids instead of EB. They’ll have the last laugh when gas lines get long
  14. Hybrid badge

Lower profit margins on hybrids. More supply chain issues with hybrids. .Far less hybrid inventory on dealers lots than turbos. You can’t sell what you don’t have. If that buyer has to order, they are much less likey to buy. Ford want customers to come in, test drive, and sign on the dotted...
  15. Hybrid badge

I find it interesting that Ford quit putting hybrid badges on the newest models. They don’t want the public to know they’re available, that way the uninformed will buy the turbos automatically.
  16. Tailgate letter changes on Oxford White

    I noticed that too.
  17. Tailgate letter changes on Oxford White

I finally found an Oxford white to park next to for comparison. I still like the matching color letters. They are understated, which I like, but look more upscale than plain stamped lettering. Hard to see in pictures, but if you were walking through a parking lot and saw the lettering you...
  18. Tailgate letter changes on Oxford White

So, by your standards, and words, if all comments are fair game, and if you don’t like it, ignore it, then why are you coming down on me? Perhaps you lighten up, or ignore my comment to him, and this one to you. See how that works?
  19. MotorTrend 2-Year Long Test Review of Maverick Hybrid: How It Went

With all the cars they keep long, (and short), term the Mav impressed them. All the whining and complaining on this forum may be just that. I’ve been happy with my hybrid.
  20. Tailgate letter changes on Oxford White

Why are you here? I created this thread for those who might be considering this option on what ever color truck they have. If you don’t like the discussion, leave.
