Picked up my 5/7 build, but recall free, Lariat Lux today 6/1. Spoke to the service advisors about this issue. Told them that the nature of my work has me parking behind two layers of security and we leave our cars unlocked in our garage at home. The service advisors perked up and said "by chance, you aren't an airline employee are you?" ... We've had to go rescue Flight Attendants who leave their cars unlocked down at the airport and we can not get into the lot."

Their solution: STOP LEAVING YOUR TRUCK UNLOCKED!

Apparently, the radios (and I dunno, modem) stay connected expecting your soon return unless the vehicle is LOCKED. Locking the vehicle tells it that you're going to be gone a while and to power down.

Played with this a bit at the house and yes, shortly after I lock the vehicle you hear other relays reconfiguring the power through the truck.

The Flight Attendants (guinea pigs in their experimentation) solved their 12V drain problem by locking up while on long trips. The dealer did not say that they were given new batteries, or anything more than a jump and on occasion a tow to the dealer.

My trips run 5 days. We shall see, but so far, so good.

(& if this solution has been tried and hasn't worked, please forgive me ... for posting a new thread. Just trying to help)

I always lock mine. Turning off all the connectivity stuff helps but in the winter it’s in deep sleep a lot. Now that it’s been warmer I haven’t had the issue in a while.

All of these supposed solutions are just wild ass guesses.

Example: at my dealership when I mentioned the occasional Deep Sleep I get and the service tech said that the voltage monitor that is plugged into the 12 Volt Accessory socket was probable the issue.

Funny how it could be as that socket is powered off when the Maverick is shut off.

Again the techs when they have no idea as to when the actual problem is just spout nonsense.

I always lock my doors, even in the garage. My Mustang light stay on a long time if not locked. Easy to just lock and unlock.

I am wondering if the Flight Attendants are leaving the keys in the Mav. With the pillar codes, my dad would leave the keys in his Crown Vic when he flew and that way he would never leave his keys while on the road. Would leaving the fob in the Mav and lock it vey the pillar cause the battery Drain? Just thinking out loud here.

Seems plausible on models with proximity key and less likely on XL and XLT.

I lock mine 100% of the time.
Battery still drains to 11.9 volts overnight. I've turned off WiFi and deleted the FordPass App and no change.

12 volt socket stays on for 90 minutes after turning off. At least my hybrid does.

Of course opening any door turns on the lights for x minutes (not sure why it has to do this in daylight) and specifically opening the driver's door wakes up all the computer modules for x minutes. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Last Saturday, I went into the garage and found my hybrid dead - app showed deep sleep. I had driven it the night before so I really didn't understand it. A Triple A driver put his jump box on it and it immediately started. I drove to the dealership and they checked the batteries and found absolutely nothing wrong. No drain, no bad cells, no nothing, so I'm driving it.
I never lock it in the garage and always leave the keys in it. I've had it for 1.5 years now and never had this problem before. The tech wondered if an OTA update triggered deep sleep. I certainly have no clue but it would be extremely annoying to have it happen when I am out and about.

A lot of stock batteries may be weak or defective in a bargain basement vehicle.

It may be this simple.

I've nothing further to add to all this input other than a couple of days ago I locked the truck and watched all the lights promptly switch off…but since I was in a dark garage I saw the display screen did not go off; it jus went to a dim gray and stayed that way until I reopened and closed the door. Never would have noticed in outdoor light. However, I've had plenty of 11.9v deep sleeps and the above was not the cause of those. Still waiting for Sherlock or Columbo to solve.
