Picked up my 5/7 build, but recall free, Lariat Lux today 6/1. Spoke to the service advisors about this issue. Told them that the nature of my work has me parking behind two layers of security and we leave our cars unlocked in our garage at home. The service advisors perked up and said "by chance, you aren't an airline employee are you?" ... We've had to go rescue Flight Attendants who leave their cars unlocked down at the airport and we can not get into the lot."
Their solution: STOP LEAVING YOUR TRUCK UNLOCKED!
Apparently, the radios (and I dunno, modem) stay connected expecting your soon return unless the vehicle is LOCKED. Locking the vehicle tells it that you're going to be gone a while and to power down.
Played with this a bit at the house and yes, shortly after I lock the vehicle you hear other relays reconfiguring the power through the truck.
The Flight Attendants (guinea pigs in their experimentation) solved their 12V drain problem by locking up while on long trips. The dealer did not say that they were given new batteries, or anything more than a jump and on occasion a tow to the dealer.
My trips run 5 days. We shall see, but so far, so good.
(& if this solution has been tried and hasn't worked, please forgive me ... for posting a new thread. Just trying to help)
