  1. Two weeks into a 2025 Maverick Lariat Hybrid - Long Owner's Review

"Long owner review" - - wasn't sure that that meant... Is he tall? Is he saying the rest of us are "short" or shorter than him? How would he know? Is he starring in the next season of White Lotus? Or is he just verbose?
  2. 2025 Maverick Lariat Hybrid review (coming from a 2023 Lariat Hybrid)

Oh I agree. But, used to have a Mercedes E class wagon. Would you believe 12 ft. boards would fit over the passenger seat? Would you believe (rear hydraulics) it would carry a pallet of wood flooring? Utility vehicles are the bomb, regardless of whether they are shaped like Mavericks or a...
  3. 2025 Maverick Lariat Hybrid review (coming from a 2023 Lariat Hybrid)

Yep... we (me and almost 500 friends) took three World Records back from China for the most EV's at an event, most vehicles driving autonomously and most Tesla back in 2019. All together about 200,000 trouble free miles on Tesla with zero problems. The 3 has been absolutely solid. The X ((with...
  4. 2025 Maverick Lariat Hybrid review (coming from a 2023 Lariat Hybrid)

Maverick owners have posted great reviews, thank you all for them. The big change for 2025 is the change from the front wheel drive platform to an all wheel drive platform based on the HF55 transaxle. It seems like there is more to it than just adding a power takeoff unit and the rear...
  5. Lincoln Corsair engine

Seems to me mostly tuning, but that probably has a lot to do with the higher capacity battery on the Corsair and more power to feed the electric motors for longer. The Nautilus has even more power thanks to using the 2.0L Turbo (kind of a Ecoboost + Hybrid). Wired magazine has the best...
  6. OXFORD WHITE Maverick Photos Thread

    New Maverick delivered this evening.
  7. Strange Turbo Spooling Noise in Hybrid

well, it is quiet compared to the front drive unit on the Tesla Model X ... but as an EV owner it is a sound that is instantly recognizable.
  8. Tranny died

70,000 miles seems to be a good rule of thumb, but the AWD system has two more gear sets; the Power Takeoff Unit and the differential. I saw some forum wisdom that people are servicing those at 30,000 to 40,000 miles. Alternatively they tend to go bad at the 170,000-200,000 mi zone. The Lobo is...
  9. Tranny died

I like what you are thinking and I think it is worth a try.
  10. Tranny died

So before giving up on this transaxle I would try a fluid change. Drop the pan and see what is in there. If there are not metal shavings in the pan I'd clean as best as I could, use a new gasket and refill the transaxle and see what it does. It MIGHT be that a sensor has gotten blocked by gunk...
  11. Can we still stack Private Offer and Farm Bureau?

Used to be able to stack Ford incentives. $500 Farm Bureau + $750 Private offer = $1,250? We used to be able to do that. The dealer basically said "no negotiating" so been trying to come up with other ways to get this deal done.
  12. 2.5 Engine Long Term Question

That's very cool! Cars have become cleaner and safer, which adds weight. The Tesla Model 3 isn't getting much love anymore, but $ for capability, it remains astonishing. Lifetime average for me in ours is something like 138-145 MPGe. Still rips 0-60 in 4.9 and drives better than new due to...
  13. Typical Maverick Buyer's Age Range

Those in their mating years seem to want a F150 or F250 jacked up with a squat, loud and lighted up. These are useless as trucks, driven like NASCAR racers on the back straight at Talledega and usually end up getting flipped over in a ditch. Ford's target demographic of urban yuppies are in...
  14. Fast Arrival!

Your truck looks great in Velocity Blue. That was my first order in 2021. Took until late 2023 to actually get delivery!!! By then they no longer offered Velocity Blue and I took Atlas Blue. When I test drove the Mavericks the 2.0L EcoBoost was downright sporty! The Lobo is basically a Focus...
  15. 2.5 Engine Long Term Question

Don't know if anyone remembers the old Mercedes diesels, but the transmission was controlled by a switch on the accelerator and you could control the transmission kick down to a higher gear ratio by pushing through that switch. ... Wouldn't it be cool if Hybrid manufacturers put a spring or...
  16. Is this a good price for 25 Maverick Lariat?

Your price is very close to what I am getting quoted. I've been very frustrated that the "employee price for all" discount is getting absorbed by $1,300 to $1,500 in dealer doc fees and "EFT" fees, that appear to be a fee for the manager to look at his screen and say "yup, the money's there."...
  17. Fast Arrival!

Did you have the Front Wheel Drive Hybrid before. Can you contrast and compare the handling? Been wanting an AWD to get rid of the dreaded FWD burnouts when having to enter traffic quickly.
  18. 2.5 Engine Long Term Question

Yep, use that screen to maximize EV time. The Teslas (we own a few) break down the power output in granular detail. Want to know how much more power it takes to run the AC at 68 or 72? It tells you. On the AWD versions the truck is measuring and allocating the torque at all 4 wheels. I think...
  19. Ford offers employee pricing to all US customers - April 3 through June 2 - "From America to America"

Been to two dealers after the employee pricing announcement. BOTH increased their fees to $1,000 doc and $300 EFT plus $400 of other bullshit like windows tint to come up with prices that were ABOVE X Plan. Screw 'em. The thing I like about Tesla is that you buy the damn thing on an app, pick...
  20. 2.5 Engine Long Term Question

You will see once The engine starts it will then run until it reaches operating temperatures (two bars in the first gen Lariat). When cold, the mode is made more obvious by increased vibration. I live on a hill and can coast a couple of miles. There is no need for the engine to run, but when it...
