Thanks for all your hard work! When I set out to acquire a Maverick way back it was people like you and the work you've done that helped me learn how to be smart about it. I love driving my truck today and I saved myself a lot of headache (and probably a lot of money!) because of resources like...
If I could buy a console cover that was form fitting in the style of those old keyboard covers I'd probably go for it. It would need to be two pieces I imagine to accommodate shifter rotation but as long as liquids continue to flow downward I'd feel better protected.
@GPSMan for the win!
I kept coming back to this notion myself:
When it comes down to it, if I didn't need to use the Maverick, I could just swap the Maverick 12v battery into the dead vehicle and drive it off. Bottom line: there's stored power there that should be able to be used somehow...
Glad to hear it can be done. ...and good on ya for helping out a family in need!
Edit: followup: Do you remember where you connected the negative cable on the Maverick? ...also under the hood? Every vehicle manual we have indicates to connect the booster vehicle's negative battery terminal to...
Is this the warning you're referring to?
If the positive terminal under the hood can handle the load for jumping the Maverick, it seems like it could handle the load for jumping another vehicle from the Maverick but I wouldn't bet the truck on it. I'm 100% with you on not risking the Maverick...
Manual has instructions for jumping the truck but (best I can tell) not the other way around.
If I need to use the Maverick as a booster vehicle should I open the cabin doors and go directly from the battery in order to make a connection to the negative terminal of the battery or should I use...
First: Line-X bed liner
Wish I had a dozen trucks to mod. Love having a vehicle that's so easy to make my own. ... AND a great community that's on the same page too. Merry Christmas MTC pals! 🎄🛻
This was plan A and it kinda works. Now matter how I configure it though he seems to find ways of getting his long arms all over. I was hoping maybe there's an option where I don't have to worry about him getting into as much trouble.
Yeah - this is my challenge. He's 25" tall and 35 lbs. He made for a lankly little puppy and now he's basically a 4 legged Usain Bolt with a similar energy level I imagine. He can curl up to small throw pillow size at home but his excitement for the Maverick probably rivals that of anyone on...
I got my first app notification of deep sleep about 90 mins ago. Under 1000 miles on odometer.
Normally I drive about every 2-3 days or so. It's been six since the last trip which I imagine contributed quite a bit. This time of year I don't even use the fan, let alone the A/C so I've...
Well that's what I'm hoping for with respect to the liner. I'm always happy to throw in an extra ounce of prevention though. Would you recommend stainless rather than something with a black oxide finish like the rest of the exposed hardware in the bed?
Got a question about the M8 threaded holes across both sides of the top of the bed which some people use for installing cargo rails.
I have a spray in liner which has made it really difficult to examine this area but I plan on bolting some things on there in the future. I'm wondering what...
Oh I really like this idea.
I think the tether I have is probably too long. So far, the best I can hope for is that he wants to stick his nose out the rear window. TBH, that only works if I commit to picking up a pizza en-route and leaving it in the truck bed.
Also - great pic!
