I’d like to see the real numbers on an accredited Dynojet or Mustang dyno, and at what point the WHP and torque numbers converge on the graph vs the normal ~5252...

That would be very telling

What's obviously deliberate, but not so obvious why:

The EV braking (regen) is 2x the power as the EV accelerating*.

Example:
EV regen brake: 70A and ~120 lb-ft.
EV accelerate: 35A and ~60 lb-ft.

The current is a constant limit.
The torque tapers inversely with speed.

*The exception is the first EV acceleration out of the gate on a cold start is 2x normal, if battery charge is there.

What is interesting is the 0-80MPH run, a difference of .1 second according to the data presented 😊

Ya. The two versions of the truck are remarkably similar. I'd call acceleration equal for all practical purposes in all practical applications.

In short bursts, even the torque is basically identical.

How can the Ecoboost go 0-90 in 15.8 seconds and also run a 1/4 mile in 14.5 @95mph?
That's the beauty of electric motors, 100% of the torque at 1 rpm. As you can see below the hybrid is quicker 45-65 mph which is every day commuting speeds. You can bet Ford set it up for low to mid speed punch. Doesn't really fall off much to the over 50 mph area.

Rolling start or torque pre-loading rules?

other than a typo you'd have to ask fastestlaps.com. the 1/4 mile times compare to other testers.

Yes, numbers seem strange

Hybrid is a full 1.7 seconds behind to 60 7.6 / 5.9
But somehow catches back up at 80 12.5 / 12.4
And maintains to 90 16 / 15.8
But then falls behind 1.4s to 1/4 mile 15.9 / 14.5

They were definitely brake boosting to hit 0-60 in 5.9 and some other witchcraft.
I’ve had 2 Ecoboosts.
Best 0-60 on 93 stock is 6.48
Best 0-60 on 93 Livernois tune 5.76.
Best 0-60 on e30 Livernois tune 5.6.
DA usually around -1000.

PEAK HYBRID SYSTEM TORQUE: 267 Lb-Ft.

Published Torque:
Gas Engine: 155 lb-ft peak
Electric Motor: 173 lb-ft peak

Unpublished:
Combined hybrid system peak output.

Tested:
Peak Combined Output: 267 lb-ft
(Computer calculated)

Achieved with high (4000 RPM) engine and low (20 MPH) Motor Speed. Peak Torque is with pedal to the floor, truck at 20 MPH.

University of Nebraska did extensive testing of OBDII computer generated torque values vs. dynamometer testing, and found on a 4.5L diesel engine, OBDII computer calculations were consistently higher, but just 2% higher than dyno.

I collected data via OBDII during two full throttle accelerations from zero to 65 MPH. I only had snapshot values at 1 second intervals so the peak may be slightly higher if it occurred between intervals, but the two runs matched pretty closely.

At highway speeds, torque was about 180 Lb - Ft.

The sweet spot: 20-30 MPH.

EB Maverick can sustain the high torque for as long as gasoline supply lasts. Hybrid Maverick will only be able to sustain high torque for 1-2 minutes, or for as long as the battery charge lasts.

But at least, I have demonstrated (to myself anyway) the hybrid is just as good, as the EcoBoost, for getting your heavy load/trailer going from a stop.

😎

Hope you enjoy reading this half as much as I enjoyed testing it.

Of worthy note: there is a stored value in your truck, like the stored value for engine displacement and manufacture date. There is an on board stored value for 100% Torque Reference Point. The value in my Hybrid Maverick: 245.6 which is close to experimental values.
My first run I got a peak of 253.6.
My second run I got 267.
Happy to race you for pinks😎

Looks like they created the graph from 1 source and then plugged in the fasted 0-60 and 1/4 miles for the Ecoboost.
The 5.9 on their site had a hyperlink and the average time recorded for the Eco was 6.49, the best was 5.9 (Car & Driver) and the worst 7 (MotorTrend).

That -1k DA sounds like the mineshaft DAs we sometimes have here at Maryland International Raceway....

The hybrid was very fun to drive in Sport mode; less so in Eco. I tried hypermiling, yielded great results but hated it.

We used to drive down to ATCO for a similar experience. I was able to hit a 13.97 with a JB4 and a -2100 DA. Perfect day for a run.
Unfortunately all of the drag strips here shutdown years ago.
