From what he said it sounds really good.

Earlier in the thread Comadorbob pointed out that the trailer hitch constraint is not as bad as it sounds because it includes a lot of hybrids that will not be built.

I have an Ecoboost/XLT/Lux package/Copilot 360 ordered and I am optimistic that it will be built by the late spring as long as there is not some future problem like a rail strike.
I'm pretty much in the same boat as you, although I also have a MoonRoof on my order. However, skimming through this thread, that doesn't appear to be a constraint item either. My only worry is that I ordered through a low-volume dealer (they only had about 30-35 orders), and their allocation is less than that. Otherwise I would feel pretty good about getting my truck sooner rather than later.

So apparently I should have left the lux package on my xlt. Should I put it back on?
The hybrid will be the bigger issue for you than the lux.

I wonder if my hybrid Lariat Lux CP360+A might have a better chance of being scheduled because it would mean more margin $ for Ford. I wonder if that plays into it at all. Just wishful thinking over here.
All things being equal, if it is between you and another exactly matching truck and Ford can only build one of them, they'll fall back to allocations. Margins may play a role in their yearly plans, but in a week to week schedule, they just don't want extra parts lying around unsold. Given how few people ordered the CP360A, that might help. But who knows?

I only added the hitch because at $100 it just made sense, if I ever needed one (which I don't anticipate) I can't aftermarket one for that price. In decades of owning vehicles with a hitch, I used one less than a half dozen times, and that was specifically to haul a motorcycle. I'm old now, my bike days and trailering days are behind me.

I've never seen anything definitive that the trans case had to be changed. The new motor and winding design is more compact which would seem easier to reuse the existing casing and design those parts to fit it. Ford has claimed design time considerations on the lack of Maverick Hybrid AWD (although I've long suspected it's because the demand for such would be even more untenable as you say). And the Escape Hybrid does have AWD.
I would be surprised if the 23 Escape is not using the same electric motors as the Maverick. Yes, the motors were used first in the Maverick but:
  1. The previous motors were outsourced and probably more expensive than new inhouse ones.
  2. It's cheaper to build and stock one motor type rather than two
  3. The Escape has the PHEV which is better suited to use the better specs of the new design.

What i am having a hard time with is why they would only plan to have less than half (45%) of these trucks have hitches?

Also, at some point, Ford needs to communicate to the people who placed hybrid orders that they are not going to happen. Pretty poor business to just string these orders along. I have already placed an order for a RAV4 hybrid, because i have had enough.

It's almost like the model needs to be broken into two groups. Those that want a hybrid and those who want a cheap 4 cyl truck. If Ford knew that it could only produce x number of hybrids why allow three times x to be ordered. Instead of having a bunch of MY22 people being pissed off now they will have three times as many MY23 people pissed off.

If you look at the top of the F-150 page, it features the truck pulling something. In fact, all over that page is images of the F-150 pulling something.

The Maverick has one picture... and it is a teardrop camper the Escape could pull if it had a hitch. I honestly don't think Ford intended the Maverick to be a tower; I think they intended it to be a hauler.

My guess is the hitch is a short term issue. If the 23 production goes the same as the 22 production, the list of constraints and their percentages will change month to month. The main issue for 22 was the microchip shortage. But a hitch receiver does not require a billion dollar factory to make like micro-chips. So they probably will be able to ramp up production of them.

If I can get my EB this year and my Hybrid order next year.. I'll be happy.
I keep eyeing other models but the car market is such a crapshoot right now.

This may be too far into the weeds, is there data on the number of XL hybrids to be built vs. the number ordered? Or should we assume a 50-50 shot for all hybrids, no matter the trim? (I'm searching for a ray of hope)

In my opinion the XLT is not worth the effort without it. Too basic of a truck without it. You asked, I responded. :)
Unfortunately they removed items I want and left items I don't want or need so I am removing the Lux package. Everyone has their own wants and needs.

I removed my hitch, so one less person to fight against for everyone who still has the stand-alone on their order.
