Cleanup in this case, from what I understand, is cleaning up any unused allocations from the dealers for the month of July allocations. Sort of shaking the bushes and seeing which allocations did not get used and filling them potentially from other dealerships. I could be mistaken though.

The "last 2022 orders their gonna build before switching over to 2023" situation usually is labeled more like "balance out" and is a status I think we will see on this weekly calendar in a few weeks.
Except Ford said they are building the rest of the Mavericks in the order that orders were placed (after constraints, or course), not going by allocations where one dealer might get a Maverick ordered in, say December, while someone with an identical who ordered in November is still waiting...that's what they said, at least. Who knows.

Yeah, I know that's what they claimed they "pivoted" to. But multiple dealers have been pretty clear that they still are being given specific allocations. FordVideoGuy literally shows his screen during his weekly livestream where you can see their allocations for each model line and how many have been filled versus unfilled, etc... The Chapman (or was it Granger?) thread had a comment recently about how they got somethink like 115 allocations for August. There are definitely specific numbers still being given and disclosed to the dealerships.

Not my job to rain on your parade...however...I have been scheduled and rescheduled (at least 7 different build weeks) since May. My current build week is Aug 15. My VIN is 73xxx. I have been informed that my Lariat Lux Hybrid has been "bucked" which, to my understanding, is that all parts are in and assigned to my vehicle. My vehicle was still delayed another 2 weeks from this weeks 8/2 "build date".
My intent here is to prepare you for the likelihood of many more bumps in your road ahead.

If my May build has been pushed back all the way to the middle of August (and still not built) what will happen to September dates?

you know everyone seems to be saying if you have a VIN you will get your truck this year. However, seeing Lux package and CP 360 in those orders with assigned VIN keep getting pushed back several times I highly doubt that those orders will be fulfilled this year. Plus, Ford is focusing on building EB to round out the year that's gonna suck even more.

Talked to the dealership and my Maverick could possibly be built in Sept. VIN A878xx. It was supposed to be built in either July or August. It's an XLT FX4 with sun roof and CP360.

IF you have a VIN, it will be built as a MY22. The VINs are coded for the year. It is going to happen, whether you "see" it or not.
