Might consider a full EV in 10+ years when the infrastructure begins to catch up. At this point I like the ability to charge a hybrid without plugging in - no chance of getting stranded somewhere unless I'm stupid and let the fuel tank go empty. Wouldn't mind a higher capacity battery to further reduce ICE usage, though. Have a hybrid Fusion now, and get. 40 mpg on the highway and 45 mpg in city driving.
I agree and that is why I reconsidered wanting a pure EV Maverick versus a phev Maverick. Completely charmed by our hybrid Maverick. If Ford comes out with a phev Maverick we damn sure will get a second Maverick. I do agree a bigger battery would really be nice, overall I've become a hybrid convert.

PHEV would be perfect for me. 100 miles is all I would need for my commute. Drive to work….plug it in….drive home….drive to work….plug it in. Then having a 500 mile range as a hybrid…that would be lovely

For me absolutely not.

I enjoy the freedom to just drive and not worry where the next charging station is located.

My 2804 mile vacation trip in June over seven states would have been hellish if I had to plan when and where I had to recharge.

500+ miles on a tank of gas vs having to recharge every 200+ miles is like day and night.

No, wouldn't want to give up versatility. Also infrastructure limits would be an issue

I'm getting the Lariat hybrid. I'd drop it like a hot rock for a Maverick Lariat EV.

Update... Living with a Maverick Hybrid for last 4 months... Completely charmed and smitten by the Maverick hybrid. At this point I would go with a PHEV vs an EV. If Ford offers a PHEV in the future, with a minimum of 100 miles on battery, we will be a two Maverick family.
I could see that, but no EV.

Definitely interested in a PHEV Maverick if it has at least a 50-mile range for EV-only operations.

All you need is 100 miles? Unfortunately the PHEV with the longest range on EV alone is the $160k Polestar 1...at a whopping 52 miles. Most PHEVs are in the ~30 mile range. If you have a longer commute, you may actually be better off with a conventional hybrid, otherwise you'll be lugging around several hundred pounds of useless battery for much of that commute.

Thanks….no idea of the range for PHEV…..never looked into one.

We had a 2012 Toyota Prius that we sold with 115K miles without one issue…..and on the original brakes. Great car except you were seen in a Prius🙃

Like others said, I’d consider with a 500 mile range but I also want a 15 minute charge time. So at this point, nope.
Realistically, 300 mile range is more than most bladders care to deal with. In the 620 miles between Shreveport, LA and just south of Atlanta, GA, we'd stop twice - even in our younger days and driving my Mustang, we'd stop twice even on trips without kids. It was a 10 hour slog... (not driving 62, of course, but averaging that when you include stopping time.) In my wife's Model Y now, we also stopped twice. We've only made that trip in her car because we moved. Anyway, It's 15 - 20 minutes to charge but never felt long because bathroom break takes time... Well, plus snack shopping... road trips are never my healthiest times... LOL

Total (EV) vehicles, there is nothing practical about them, range, cost, charging stations ect, just another brain dead idea by our infamous incognitive leader. Not reality at all.
We love our EV... but I'm pretty sure no person alive had the idea since the first electric car was back in the 1800s..., nor is it a brain dead idea. Daily, we NEVER use more range than our EV has and it's the smoothest accelerating car I've ever had and faster than all the mustangs I've had and the Viper I drove. It's fun as all hell to drive and SUPER easy to just plug in at home. It's so awesome that the only reason I'd EVER buy another gas vehicle is for the truck form. I've had 7 F-series, F150-F450 and just want a little truck for now so I'm getting a Maverick. We've never had problems with charging stations, range... Well, on cost, you are correct. They are still pricey to buy. But, zero maintenance other than adding washer fluid so far. Tires and wiper blades are the only other two maintenance items I'll have to deal with but big deal.

Oh, it's MUCH more practical to simply plug in the car once a week at home than it is to drive to a gas station and fill up. I mean, I spend literally 10 seconds a week "filling" it up. It doesn't get any more practical than that. Well, inductive charging where it just charges itself while sitting there... LOL

I hope to trade in my hybrid for an EV in 3-5 years if has at least 250 miles of range. Closer to 500 would be better. Infrastructure will make road trips challenging this decade, but after that, it should have worked itself out.

Yup, all of the above. You can keep all of your hybrids in all flavors. IMHO, hybrid technology is still in its infancy compared to the longevity of I.C.E.
