I like Mavericks as well.
They don't keep me up either but methane is a thing. Clearly worrying about the future, including my son's, makes me weak I guess .....
Yet you are ok with the fact it’s yet to be ever proven that any of what humans do affects the climate. Nor are cows any worse than buffalo which were naturally coving the plains many more than we have cow today yet that never made any difference. If you were worried about his future you should be more concerned with the damage ev’s do to the earth with the mining in china, disposal of batteries and the fact that the more you enrich chine the more likely your son ends up ruled by a tyrant.
Less of two evils deal. Neither mag be right but I know which one I would choose. The one we know is terrible for our kids environment or the one that may or may not do anything but make life better for all man kind.

That's why I want us to get in board with EVs so the Chinese don't take over.
Most mining is outside China today and the answer is to make better batteries, like solid state.
Cows are worldwide and worse than buffalo that were in North America. Plus we didn't have cars and planes then.

I had an argument with someone recently asking me to prove the Earth isn't flat, seriously. I gave up arguing science. People usually discount the source if they don't like the info.

Again I could list many many well respected scientists that say we have had no measurable effect. So that not discounting. That just science. You will not find any well respected or any scientists for that matter that tells you the earth is flat.
Just a few listed in this article.

Again to say that cows are causing it is very laughable. Again no consensus exists. It just doesn’t. It’s only 3-4 percent of greenhouse gasses.
But again no data collected dates we have an effect. In fact the earth has stabilized in overall temp since about 2008 as our greenhouse gas levels has risen. How could that be? Probably be fact that the sun has more to do than anything we could. That over ten year with zero temperature rise. With record carbon emissions and vastly more cows. You should be worried about cooling more than warming. Since humans are very easily adaptable to warm more than cool.
And the believe that electric vehicles are gonna be less a danger to the earth is simply burring you head in the sand.
China simply cares zero about the environment. So with your choice to buy from them you empower a country that goes directly against what you Mr goal even is. Unless you think that to stop china the way to do it is give them more money.

"yet to be proven" Wow, most of the world knows that is so untrue.

Um no. Do some digging most that use strictly data point to the fact that the world temp overall measured has not increased since 2008. Yet if we are causing it how did it stop. Data collection is all we have. I for one don’t think we don’t have an effect I believe we do but I don’t think what we do will change the outcome. In fact before fossil fuels the earth warmed at a much much faster rate than it has since. We left an ice age all before cows or cars. So how can anyone say it’s settled?
I linked several videos with well respected scientists that do study the exact topic. Please watch them and tell me where or discredit the data. We really can’t. Hence why you will never get a climate expert to openly debate real scientists. They will publish a paper but never debate the actual data.

I wish they would so we could have a clear picture. I think it goes without saying that your link has a pretty apparent agenda attached. At least gonzo linked USA Today which has some credit.

For those who seek the truth, or at least the truth as best we can currently ascertain, no matter your current beliefs, both sides of this debate (humans/climate) should be researched carefully.

Unfortunately, main stream media, and the globalists get all the attention, since they control most of what is easily seen & heard. Their conclusion/agenda is pretty clear, and easy to access.

Here are a few suggestions for educating yourself on the alternative view. Look into the work of the following credible researchers:
Dr. Judith Curry(her book,"Climate Uncertainty & Risk" is a great read)
Dr. Steven Koonin
Dr. Richard Lindzen
Bjorn Lomborg
(Jordan Peterson has podcasts with all of the above, great way to get started)
Russ Schussler (The Planning Engineer, great insight into the electrical grid, and alternative energy.)

This is such an enormous, complex subject, most of us must rely on the "experts" for guidance.

For me, it's rather clear which side is seeking the truth, and which side is pushing an agenda.

The overwhelming majority of climate scientists that aren't funded by Exxon Mobil agree.
AGAIN I don't want to buy from China so please stop the gaslighting. I want the US to make them and if you look at all the factories in the works we're starting on it. Take an inventory today if the items in your possession made in China..... never said the Chinese care the environment, although I assume with 1.4 billion people some do, they want to take over the auto industry and looks like we might let them.
Temps have not stabilized....

That sounds about right - but, really, lets say they could make a 40K mav EV today, now who would really pony up and extra $14K for an EV when they could just buy a hybrid that already gets 40+mpg? Paying 40 percent more for something that, economically, you'd never recover is sort of peculiar.
Unfortunately, it is not really peculiar. Few people can do math. I saw that many public high school graduates can't pass the math test for 8th grade.

I could be wrong but in my experience ( in life and out here) most people's opinions on climate change kind up with their personal vehicle preference and/ or their politics ( not sure why everything is political these days) . That's awful convenient. Somebody really likes gas cars and they don't care for EVs so then they seem to decide climate changes isn't real. Personally my preference in a car if I had to go for a drive would be a naturally aspirated gas engine with a manual transmission and RWD Hopefully on the light side , something like a Porsche 911. GT3. But I don't let what I like and enjoy inform my opinions on science. I can see the temptation though.

Currently that $40k EV comes with $7500 off. Either way people but what they want, it's not just about money. Perhaps they like the driving experience better? Having a drink? The novelty of something different.
My buddy at work bought an $85k one ton diesel GMC because he loved them and it's like a religion to him from my point of view. He certainly doesn't need it for work, the job provides him with a work truck.

This thread is still popping up almost daily.

EV threads are like bad ex's, they just keep stopping by to argue.

I don't understand why everyone wants to keep pontificating. This whole site is dedicated to mavericks. There is no maverick EV. Can't we let it rest until there is a clear indicator there will be one?

These threads are like all the YouTube disinformation about other makers small truck coming to crush the Mav. Just figments of imagination so far.
These threads keep popping up because people who want EVs keep starting them 🧐
