On the bright side, the plant being down for two full weeks in July helps to explain the tiny production target of only 2800 for that month (after they targeted 10k for June). So perhaps we can expect closer to 7k for August?
Where are those Y2K computer guys who made insane amounts of overtime years ago ?The earth's magnetic poles are about to flip....Ford is scheduling to reverse production machine wiring to prepare for our 2023MY reserved Mavericks.![]()
That was my understanding all along. There was a period recently where Ford was scheduling up to 5 weeks at a time, so I'm not sure why everyone is so stunned, just stunned, at the lack of scheduling the past few weeks. We've known about the plant closure, we've known production numbers for July were around 2400.. not sure what they expected. Should be full speed ahead for August and September, and hopefully the first half of October, to knock out all the MY22 trucks they can.On the bright side, the plant being down for two full weeks in July helps to explain the tiny production target of only 2800 for that month (after they targeted 10k for June). I’d missed the info about the plant shutdown, but definitely was aware of the low target for July. I still think component constraints will limit production of ordered vehicles, but expect Ford will make up the balance by building dealer stock orders instead as the MY22 production cycle winds down. That was my understanding all along. Frustrated, but I can wait. I have a good vehicle and I'm not in a rush. I feel bad though for all those that need a vehicle. To me a car/truck is a way to get around, I like a few comforts, but my days of long travels are over so I'm ok with the wait. Besides, in the scheme of things as a whole, waiting on a truck is way low on my list. However, I sure would like to not spend this much for gas! My hybrid would help me with that.I have defended Ford for months, but yet another week of nothing is not acceptable. All I want is a base hybrid with a drop in bedliner. No heated seats, heated steering wheel, fancy hubcaps, stickers that blow off in the car wash, and it doesn’t have to be personally delivered by Paige Duke, but an October order with still no build date is not ok. You June, July, August, September folks must be going through the roof.
7/28/21 ORDER .... No News
Ford just gave me a VIN # as a teaser or maybe they like to play mind games ...
Which ever it is ... I am going to count my blessings and keep on waiting ...
This only applies to scheduling, not builds. They will still be building vehicles next week, they just won't be doing any scheduling for builds that would occur in July or August. That's just great. My Maverick was scheduled to be built 6/6. Was hoping to get the Maverick by August. Now, who knows?
