Yes resistance to detonation is what I was trying to say. If a gas has a higher flash point than a gas with a lower one, then the gas with a lower flashpoint will detonate sooner than a gas with a higher flashpoint. Higher compression means that the fuel and air mixture will be at a higher...
I didn't take it personally so no problem. It is crazy how stuff happens. My sister was coming up on a 4 way intersection and a truck was coming the opposite way on the same road. Just as my sister's car and the truck were approaching the intersection towards each other, some tard blew through...
If I am on an interstate, pull off to get gas (premium), reset the Average MPG before pulling back onto the road, keep it at 70 mph or just below, I'll see like 37 mpg on the meter after I've driven a bit. The Average MPG meter has a 1-3 mpg error usually. That is why I estimate I am getting...
Agree. People still misunderstand what octane rating means. Higher octane does not mean more power. In simplest terms, a lower octane has a lower flash point and vice versa.
If you go base Maverick to base Ridgeline the difference is like $12k. I agree if you are going to spend that much on a Ridgeline you may as well step up to a midsize pickup on frame truck. The Ranger can tow 2500 lbs more than the Ridgeline, the Tacoma can tow 1500 lbs more.
It's a truck. The function, not the construction determines a vehicle. Is a minivan not a van because it is unibody and it is smaller than a full size, body on frame van?
Lets see. A pickup like an F-150 (1) has a bed (2) can tow stuff (3) has some off road capability.
and the Maverick (1) has...
Yeah okay. Don't take me serious. I had more on my post that I deleted because it was personal. My son and my sister were killed by distracted drivers. I know most people will ignore what I say because they think it happens "to the other guy". I heard about other people losing thier child or...
The Ridgeline's bed isn't really much bigger than the Mavericks.
Ridgeline 34 Cubic feet vs. Maverick 33.3 Cubic feet. (A Santa Cruz has 27 Cubic feet).
The under bed storage of the Ridgeline to me is a bit of a gimmick. The one advantage I suppose is that the spare tire isn't exposed to road...
I think the older SC design looked better. 2 things against the Santa Cruz (turbo) was that it had large wheels with low profile tires and a DCT that was prone to overheating when driving the trails. The 18" wheels on the non-turbo looked better IMO. Don't understand some of these manufacturers...
My coolant was also the same at about the same amount of mileage. Weird. I topped it off to the max mark. Took it to the dealer and they couldn't find anything wrong (as usual). Guess it was just my imagination that I added about 10 ounces to bring it up to the MAX level. I bought the factory...
A simple solution would be to buy a folding step stool. I've had this one for years. ( B&R Plastics) It's 12 inches high unfolded and can support 300lbs. Weighs 4 lbs.
Could also go with something like this step stool working platform. More pricey, doesn't fold as flat as the plastic one...
I had the day off today and I was driving to a park. A Lexus SUV comes up behind me. It was a white guy in his,I'd say 60's or 70's. (a reason why I mention race). As I'm looking at him in my review mirror I was like WTF??? At first glance It looked like his toupee had fallen off and landed on...
Every so often in the good weather for the past few years I see an old guy driving a little red Japanese pickup. Looks to be an early 1960's Toyota or Datsun. That thing is tiny. Smaller than a Chevy S-10. narrower body. About as small in comparison to an S-10 as the S-10 is to the Maverick...
Draw your own conclusions but the whole EV thing is a pipe dream. The Government (you know those super trustworthy people) don't talk about the downsides. Like how strip mining is required for the materials to build EV batteries. Or that oil is and always will be required because ...uh...
Yeah I got the same ones on my Area 51 Maverick. They are Tufskinz and you can get them on thier site (I did) instead of the dealer. A little pricey but better quality than the cheap flat vinyl ones and a lot easier to install. They are like a plastic-rubbery material that is slightly domed...
