Nope because the JJC brackets for the Tremor use the tow hooks as the mounting point. They are as solid as can be. I also bought them over two years ago so I have had them a while and I have no idea what he makes now.
Thanks. They're basically the same. The brackets use the frame at the tow hooks for mounting, which is essentially what I was asking.

Let’s see if we got this.

  • The harness you made for R & L travels along with existing lighting harness back to the BCM.
  • How does your harness connect with the BCM which is where and looks like what? Is this where the terminal repair kit is used?
  • Swap the headlight switch with one from a F-150 (or Maverick Lobo?) which has a fog light button.
  • Use existing headlight switch plug which already has the needed pins.
  • Connect via Forscan to set right front fog lamp use to fog only, set left front fog lamp use to fog only. An aside, you could disallow fogs with high bean here?
You pretty much got it.

I don't know if anyone has swapped in a Lobo switch yet. The F-150 switch works fine and is pretty cheap. There is even an F-150 switch variant for opening the hybrid fuel door if you need that.

The writeup by Antonio he linked to in post 27 has pics and process for the BCM pins.

The OEM wiring to the headlight switch is the same on all Mavericks; it is just the Forscan programming that makes the F-150 switch work.

You can either set the fogs to work with or without the high beams.

Thank you. Kind of as I thought. Once I get to the BCM, even with a the photos I'm not sure what is going where. I'm going to read through again in the bright of day but I think its above my pay grade.

The post i referred back to is the one I used for guidance. It's really not too difficult. That's where I used the new pins which inserted right into the harness and wired them up to the wire from the fog lights. From your last reply, you basically got it down. I started at the driver side light and then ran to the passenger side light spliced the grounds and then ran them up through a grommet on the passenger side firewall then down to the BCM. I ran the 2 power wires to the new pins on the BCM harness and then ran the ground to an existing ground near the BCM.

I used the F150 switch since I knew it would work. I just plugs in, no rewiring needed. And then just use Forscan to set everything on and the light even shows up on the dash for them.

I've seen some chatter over time about fog lights and the FX4 bumper, so here's my experience. Starting off I used THIS thread for a majority of the research to get me started. Antonio's work was a HUGE help. It seems like a bit of work, but 100% worth it, and works like it came on the truck.

Things purchased:
Diode Dynamics SS3 pods - HERE
JJC Offroad Brackets - HERE
F150 Headlight Switch - HERE
50' x3 16ga wire and heat shrinks for the harness
Ford Terminals for BCM Connection - HERE
Wire loom for harness to protect wire - HERE

Tons of adjustment in these brackets, so it takes a bit to get them exactly how you want it. I left mine angled out a little to match the curve of the bumper.

Cutting the bumper made me a little nervous but the JJC bezels give you some room to work with. A dremel works perfect for this. The bezels have 4 bolts that get secured from the back side.

Made the harness myself. It was pretty straight forward. Since the brackets attach to the frame you can tie up the harness to the other wires without having to have slack for removing the bumper.

Ran the wire harness through the grommet on the passenger side and down to the BCM

Next swapped the headlight switch for the F150 one so I can have the fog light button, with an oem look. Simple as popping the old one out and plugging the new one in.

You'll have to use Forscan to enable to left and right fog lights for them to work with the BCM wiring.

Pretty cool the light even shows up in the cluster like it was made for it.

And now the real proof, the before and after. Like I said i left mine slightly angled outward to match the bumper. This might look off to some people but I welcome the extra side output to help light up ditches better.

The F-150 switch you listed is. a little
different then the switch I have in my 23 XLT. My switch has the fuel door button and cargo light to the left of the knob, this switch only has the cargo light. I’ve looked for a 150 switch with fuel and cargo light but haven't had much luck. Do you happen to know of one?

Look for one from a Hybrid Escape that has the fog light button.
