Depth of JJC FX4 brackets w/ SS3 lights

For those that have done the JJC FX4 brackets with Diode Dynamics Angled SS3 lights, did you have to cut back the plastic bumper portion larger then the bracket cut out hole? It seems like that may be needed for the angled SS3 lights...

I'm also thinking a rubber trim that pushes to cover the metal bracket + plastic bumper may be an option.
