Alright, we already got the senior Maverick owners thread going strong, so I figured it was only right to make one for the younger crowd too

Honestly feels like the Maverick brought in a completely different generation of truck owners compared to most trucks. I see everything from college students, first-time truck owners, people coming from Hondas/sports cars, mini overland builds, lowered street trucks, and dudes using them as actual work trucks every day.

So I’m curious:
  • How old are you?
  • What trim/engine did you get?
  • Why did you pick the Maverick over something else?
  • What do you actually use it for?

Also:
  • who’s the youngest owner on here?
  • highest mileage young owner?
  • biggest mod addiction so far? 😭
  • who said ā€œI’ll keep it stockā€ and immediately failed?
I swear these trucks somehow end up doing everything. One guy’s hauling plywood during the week, another guy’s camping in the mountains with a rooftop tent(me lol), and another is building a mini street truck.

Well I’ll start first…

I’m 21 with a 2022 Hybrid XL.

I originally got the Maverick because I wanted something practical that still had truck capability without killing me on gas. I looked at bigger trucks, but for where I’m at right now it just made way more sense. Easy to daily, cheap to fill up, still fits plywood, dirt, tools, camping gear, etc. Plus I honestly liked that it felt different from every other truck on the road.
What I actually use it for is kinda everything:
  • hauling plywood, dirt, cement bags, random Home Depot runs
  • towing occasionally
  • camping trips
  • road trips
  • daily commuting
  • way too many ā€œlemme see if this fits in the bedā€ moments
As for mods… yeah the ā€œI’ll keep it stockā€ idea lasted absolutely no time at all 😭
Started with simple stuff and somehow turned into:
  • full lighting setup
  • roof rack
  • rooftop tent
  • awning
  • wraps
  • aux battery + inverter setup under the rear seat
  • overland gear
  • more stuff still sitting in boxes waiting to go on
Biggest mod addiction is probably lighting and electrical stuff. Every time I finish one thing I immediately think of another thing to wire up lol.

Turning 25 here in a few months, just recently went out and picked up a 2022 XLT Hybrid. So far, the truck's only use has been hauling whatever strange find my fiancĆ© found at the antique/thrift stores around us. Fun fact, after I joined the forum, I was browsing through a lot of the old post on this site and actually found the guy who owned it before me and sent him a message. Small world šŸ˜‚

26 here. Was 23 when I bought my Maverick brand new. XLT with FX4 and 4K tow. I needed something with a bed but an F150 is more than I need, and even the newer Rangers are a bit too big for my needs. It was just perfect timing with the Maverick coming out. Good MPG, enough utility for what I need, and honestly I just loved the interior/dash design from the get.

This is my daily driver so it does get commuting time, but I do use it to tow my snowmobile trailer, off road in Northern Michigan, and haul landscaping supplies or just any other large objects. 48k miles now and am very happy with it!

Only mods are an RC 1" level and upsized Firestone Destination AT2 tires (replaced the Pirelli Scorpion JUNK).

Nice truck. Nice mods. Just because you're young, doesn't mean that you can't have good taste in vehicles.
I especially like your old school Boomer license plate. šŸ‘

Although not many young replies yet, I thought I’d see more EB owners in that group.

Early millennial here. Driven used vehicles my whole life, from Explorers, Dodge Rams, F-150s and even an PHEV escape. But I always wanted a new vehicle once, but I wasn't going to do it if I couldn't make it make sense. The Maverick ticked all the boxes, plus it had the hybrid powertrain I loved out of the Escape (RIP Ford PHEV's). It has a Revolver bed cover and prototype hybrid skid plates from Rival4x4. Stock height and tires for now

For my short commute and occasional 300 mile round trip, it has done fantastic. It's also dog approved.

Early 30s, had two for work, a 22 and now a 25.

Both are white XLT fleet trims, meaning they have the 8 way power driver seat with lumbar but no heat and no heated wheel/mirrors or really any other XLT features.

Still get tempted by Mavs constantly, especially those green ones. They are so incredibly useful but trading in/selling two paid off vehicles for one that can do the job of both but not as well as either is a hard sell, especially with the economy today.

Eh? This isnt the Boomer/Gen X thread though.
Although not many young replies yet, I thought I’d see more EB owners in that group.
The type of young person who values a utilitarian daily driver is also going to look at the hybrid for the gas mileage. Most young people also live in urban areas where the jobs are and the hybrid truly shines.

I'm 42. Still think I'm young until I look in the mirror...
I'm 41, some store checkout people still talk down to me like I'm 18, I give them odd looks. I would think the odd grey hair in my beard and balding would be a give away... :ROFLMAO:

You would think the young ones would be appreciative of all the technology we geezers invented. Computer, internet, PC, smartphones etc. Their modern Maverick is
chocked full of Boomer innovations. Oh well, they gave us Facebook & TikTok yay!

I am 68 and I got an XL hybrid white Maverick for a car with an open air trunk. I haven't added a thing to it beyond a bed cover. Does exactly what I want.
