My 2022 FX4 + 4K just rolled 50k miles over the weekend. I bought this truck new in November 2022. It is my daily and I must say I'm still very happy with it!
In the wintertime, I tow a two-place snowmobile trailer most weekends. In the summer, I rarely tow but I will do some occasional...
Your dealer/quicklane doesn't know what they are talking about...
You can drain and fill the transmission, but do not flush it. The PTU is a drain and fill too (PTU is maybe a 20 minute job tops).
The long and short of it...
The climate control can essentially run automatically with minimal driver input, or can be completely overridden in all aspects and function like an old-style manual climate control system.
My best advice to you, having owned multiple vehicles with auto climate...
Correct. I documented this in a thread here on MTC almost two years ago when I did my first transmission service. It was an absolute joke trying to fill through the tube. Removal of the entire tube is necessary for this job.
Pretty neat. Montenegro license plate, so Eastern Europe.
Bet you could find that emblem on Ebay. Would make a cool wall hanger for the garage or man cave.
You should be good out there! Have fun. At Silver Lake Sand Dunes there are areas or paths that are well traveled and have firmed up quite a bit. If you venture off to a less traveled area, then expect the sand to get a lot softer. Sand mode + air the tires down = having a blast!
I actually just did an order on RA today for engine oil, filters, gear oil, etc for the 50k mile service for my truck. It did let me buy with ULV in the cart so hopefully I will get it.
Maybe, that would be cool. Overall my point is Ford could've found a compromise, they clearly just chose not to. I know I'm not the only one who's griped about the inability to spec a Tremor with the 4K tow pkg from the factory. If you could, I'd sell my FX4 today and pick up the Tremor.
Thanks for sharing the video Troy! Quite a bit of metal in there.
Doing my second transmission drain & fill soon (probably next week) as my FX4 is about to cross 50k miles. Also doing the second drain & fill of the PTU and RDU too. I'm interested to see how all of my fluids look!
Hence why I said the RDU being different, in my post you quoted...
Ford would obviously have to do some more engineering with the RDU to make it work. But that's the thing, they could have made it work with a little more R&D, they just didn't go down that path.
So you're telling me all this time, Ford could have been doing this?! Obviously other than the RDU being different. Sounds like Ford was just too lazy to try to make 4K tow + Tremor work. I'm glad to see you are getting it done though!
