For sure, the enclosed trailer is the way to go just to keep the sleds nice too. Keeps all the salt spray, brine, and dirt off of them while towing.
But totally, a flat/open snowmobile trailer would definitely get you some better MPG towing. Even one of those clamshell snowmobile trailers...
Funny you mention that, my brother towed this trailer the weekend prior with his 3.5 Ecoboost F150. He got about 12-13 average, just a little better than the Maverick.
Been a while since I've posted on MTC, but reporting back on my towing experience this weekend.
First time I've really had to do some real towing with my truck and I must say I'm pretty impressed! 2022 FX4 with the 4k tow package with a steel framed, full height, two-place snowmobile trailer...
I think it's fine too honestly. Surprisingly, it sounds better than the Sony "premium" 10 speaker system in my previous Focus ST. With a little EQ tweaking, I've found a sweet spot that I like.
To answer some of the previous questions about parts production locations, some of the major components of the Maverick drivetrain are made in the US. @Maverstang mentioned the Van Dyke Powertrain plant in Michigan for the hybrid drivetrain (minus the motor). The 8 speed for the Ecoboost is...
I can't speak for the Tremor, but IMO the FX4 package is 100% worth it. It's a great value considering the add-ons you get with the package. I would think that having the upgraded cooling *could* extend the life of the truck, but really this comes down to how you drive the truck and the...
Just a quick update. I dropped my truck off at the dealer on Monday, July 24. Got a call back yesterday, July 25 that they are having to replace the entire rear left lower control arm (not the trailing arm). Will have the truck back by the end of the week. I believe the issue is specifically...
Just too many distracted drivers nowadays. As someone who used to motorcycle I'm used to always checking my mirrors, especially when I'm pulling up to a stop light.
On the note of the brake lights and regen, maybe Ford could implement a strobe or flashing light of some sort to show that you're...
Exactly. I'm able to do this work as well but it's under warranty and free, so why not! Just hope dealer doesn't mess something else up while it's in...
I'm scheduled to take the truck in on the 24th. They needed to push it out to ensure they'd have a loaner for me. It's still making the noise, I'm not doing anything about the noise right now so that I don't get the "well we couldn't find anything" line from the dealer LOL.
Like others I have to say the A/C is impressive! I also was expected a noisier cabin but I was quite surprised at how quiet it is.
Additionally, the radio. I know many have complained so I was expecting it to not be good at all. I was pleasantly surprised to find the radio really isn't that...
Apologies for reviving an old thread. My truck is making a creaking noise from the rear suspension, driver side. I have diagnosed it myself as coming from the bushing where the bottom control arm mounts up to the subframe. There's some sort of binding as vibrations are felt there when the...
I'll have people ask me at the gas station, but that's about it. There's still only like 3 Mavericks total in the area I live so they're definitely hard to come by.
Gutted for you man! Feel better soon. Hopefully they throw the entire book at the person who hit you. Those circumstances you described are absolutely unacceptable. That person should never have been on the road.
With fuels that have ethanol, I think a big factor is how long you let it sit. From my experience running dirt bikes, snowmobiles, jet skis, and various small engine tools (all carbureted too, none EFI), running fuel with ethanol (just pump gas that's E10 or E15) is fine as long as you run it...
I've been very impressed with my Mav's gas mileage too. FX4 and I have the 4k tow package. In these summer months on summer blend gas, I'm getting ~32 mpg on freeways with cruise at 76 mph. State trunkline roads I'm closer to ~33-34 mpg with cruise at 60 mph. Around town, about 23-24 mpg...
