I'm curious.
What mobile one did you buy that did not meet these specification WSS-M2C961-A1 for 5W30, or WSS-M2C963-A1 for 0W30
According to mobile using their Interactive online app. Their oils meet or exceed the above Ford specifications.
I believe it was the ESP, it had a green label and they said it was best for turbocharged engines. The only Mobile 1 I found that met the Ford spec was the Advanced Fuel Economy. This is in the 0W30, maybe it is different in 5W30. I will find out in the spring.

Before making a blanket statement about mobile 1 oil. I would go to Mobile's interactive app and download my truck's information see what oil they recommend and then check the specifications.

Which is why I choose readily available mobile 1.

Update : boss calls me and I discussed the poor customer service and botched service request for the oil I wanted and not being able to handle recall for air bag switch on weekends. So we came to an agreement and they are taking care of the air bag panel recall as a mobile this week since they couldn’t do it on Saturdays. Also for this week a mobile service to change out to synthetic which is what I wanted in the first place. All at no charge to me!

Mobile1 ESP is a Euro spec oil, and falls in the Euro specs classification (ACEA), which will generally cross-reference to API. Mobile1 ESP is probably the highest quality oil Mobil makes, there is a lengthy discussion with lots of oil analysis data over on the Bronco forum, and the 0w-30 ESP has had superior analysis results over other main stream synthetic oils. I use it in both my Maverick & Bronco.

Wouldn't Mobile ESP meet Ford's WSS-M2C961-A1 for 5W30, or WSS-M2C963-A1 for 0W30 specifications?

As an ACEA C2 spec, it likely exceeds the Ford spec., but would not be subject to those standards. It would cross-reference to meet/exceed an API SP spec.

I looked at the back of the oil jug and it does specify WSS-M2C 961-A1 for both their regular and extended service Mobil-1 full synthetic.

Only go to the dealer for warranty work. Never for anything else. I had to fight with the dealer to get them to use full synthetic on my '24 Mav hybrid. First oil change. Charged me for 6 quarts and didn't fill it to the top line! I'll go back to doing all oil changes myself!

The Ford manual states the “blend” is acceptable. And that for turbos. Of course, synthetic prob better. A big prob.

When I bought my Maverick Lariat I opted for the Platinum plan I just had my first oil change. My local dealer offers In-Home service! A nice technician came and did the oil change, tire rotation etc. right in my driveway. I did not specifically ask for Synthetic but this what is on the invoice
7 XO*5W30*BSP MOTORCRAFT OIL SYNTHETIC B (N/C)
MBASIC1 ENGINE OIL AND OIL FILTER - REPLACE
(6714/6731) - Anyway it was great not to hassle with appointments etc.

Dealers struggle with anything but the default. 99% of customers dont care so im not surprised they just forgot or didnt see to do the synthetic. Glad they're making it right though.

As I read the first post, I wondered if he went to a 'Qwik Lube' type franchise. I've heard lots of horror stories, and wasn't pleased the one time I went.
I've only had one change on my August buy '23 hybrid (I think it's the second for the truck) and I went to a small, private shop that I have used for years. I asked for full-synth and that's what I got.
